Now I'm hungry. :?

What's the copy protection on Largo BTW?
largo was off screen, seriously thought you were going to ask about the copy protection on the soup recipe

Simple serial - just the serial. They also couldn't keep track of the number of authorizations/number of computers you're running, if it was a simple serial.
I think some devs code ranges of keys into their software and simply release or “generate” them when they’re purchased and the same email isn’t critical in activating it. Like you can go to u-he’s site and change your email, but still use your same old email to activate their licenses.

Maybe if Urs happens to see this he can comment?

For anyone demoing Largo, though, be aware that the factory library is mostly abysmal. Experiment with your own sounds or download some of the free libraries. The ones mentioned in this thread are pretty decent.

Finally, someone who agrees with me that the Largo factory library sounds pretty awful. In my experience, you also need to "fight" pretty hard to coax any decent custom sounds out of Largo. But your mileage may vary.

What I don’t get is how people taste “a soup” and then decide that they have to be some sort of anti-evangelical who must tell the world of people who like the soup how wrong they are. What’s up with that? Are they unsure of their opinion so they’re looking for assurance? I don’t like oysters, but when someone I’m with orders them, I don’t spend a moment telling them that eating phlegm-muscle that tastes like low tide and lemon is terrible and they’re out of their mind to do it. I just order something I like and move on.
My god, your tortured analogies are killing me. Here's a more apt analogy: You tell your dinner companion, "Hey, I have tried the oysters at this restaurant several times. And they've always been bad. Awful in fact. I know the crab legs are more expensive. But why don't you try them instead?"

AGAIN, if you read my original post, all I was saying is that if you are looking for an inexpensive software alternative to the original MicroWave or Waldorf M, Large is not it. In fact, it sounds pretty dreadful by comparison.

What about those statements isn't true? Remember, I said, "by comparison."
You came here looking for a software Microwave 1 and got all butt-hurt when a plugin that’s not an emulation of a Microwave 1 didn’t sound like a Microwave 1, so you went crying like a whiny baby on an audio plugin forum. “Wah! The pwgin sowds howrabew!” It’s OK, I’m sure you’re one of those people who’s music sucks anyway and you’ve got more money than talent. Good luck out there. Do me a favor and mute me, as I will mute you.

P.S. your Mutable Instruments synths are the most grating and terrible sounding hybrids I’ve ever heard and your Virus sounds like a stuck pig with all the aliasing.

I'm sorry that your feeble attempts to be clever (soup recipes anyone?) have fallen flat. You're now out of control because you can't deal with someone calling you out for trying to project an image as the "Enlightened One" (may you be praised) on KVR. The best you can do now is give in to your unresolved anger management issues and lash out at me personally. Good luck dealing with all that repressed rage.

I think the broader KVR community enjoyed the soup recipe and most probably even suggested soup to their spouses for dinner... as for your attitude you have some serious filter replacements to be done and your Oscillars needs some serious recalibration as you are aliasing in a BAD way. And Largo still stays and awesome synth even with it is factory settings an wavetables!! Projecting your own repressed anger and rage on Zerocrossing speaks volumes of your "positive" and "enlightened" "entitlement" here!!

Did you read Zerocrossing's attack on me? (I whine like a baby, my music sucks, I have more money than talent, oh, and my gear that has been used by literally every major artist and producer sounds like a "stuck pig".) Well, if he wants to get personal, it just got personal.

Yes I did, which was rather inappropriate as well but he did make a valid point about your Comparison of Largo to a different hardware synth and slating Largo as sounding terrible which is only your opinion and not a scientific fact. If you said Largo is a buggy synth due to instability in modern DAWs and Modern OS'es I would understand!

I keep saying "Read my original post" and not all the twisting of my words. But since people can't seem to be bothered. I'll just leave it at that.

Largo's factory presets are hot and cold, but there is nothing new there. Vital Pro's are the same. Hot and cold.

Not all synths are awesome out of the box, but we don't buy synths for the factory presets do we ? THey are a nice guide to what it can do, but we buy synths to tweak and to program.

If you want great presets get a rompler.

Largo is a nice sounding synth which I expected as Warldorf are known for, they have an earned reputation and rightly so, having seen videos on the Blofeld it also sounds very nice.

I wish they'd do something about it's GUI though (Largo) but other than that, considering I paid 29.99 for it, Im well happy.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

I said the Virus aliases like a stuck pig, which is irrefutably true. I guess some people are just into that crap. Most people think Wonderbread is the best bread.

To give you the benefit of the doubt I did reread your original post now which is edited and redacted 6 times...so I cannot make a fair assesment of your intent with the original post. I do remember though that your Title which has been changed as well was very aggressively poised and bordering on cynical towards Largo to say that it sounds terrible... Your tone throughout your post reinforced your cynism which got the undesired out come.
