Hi Guys!

I'm currently using an M1 Mac running Big Sur and use Logic in Rosetta mode. Pretty much all of my plugins work absolutely fine, even super old ones. I'm tempted to update to Monterey and take the chance. Is Monterey really so significantly different from Big Sur that it'll stop my plugins from working, even in Rosetta mode? At this stage I've pretty much accepted that I'll have to use Rosetta for the foreseeable future so that's really not an issue.

Those who have been brave enough to update, what has your experience been like?

Cheers! :)

Intel here (so no Rosetta). Of the 1,600+ plugins I have, less than 30 didn't work with Monterey after updating. And of those, it represents a handful of developers. I contacted each developer - two have already released updates to fix incompatibility issues, and few more are working to release an update. All the major plugins (E.g., Waves, FabFilter, Plugin Alliance, etc.) are working fine. Compared to some of the prior Mac OS updates where many plugins were negatively impacted, that's not been my experience thus far. Of course the big caveat is that I'm using Logic 10.7. If one uses another DAW, there's clearly more risk upgrading Mac OS this early after release.
