Hye all.

Daniel, wouldn't it be possible for you to think about a mega bundle of all your rhino banks, at a special price ?
It could include all your actual banks and the 3 that you're preparing...
Christmas is coming and for the moment, nothing special on my wishlist.

It's not possible to sell the next two banks before they are ready since the download links are generated at the time of purchase. However, I do plan on having an Oberheim bunle available in Jan that would give a $6 price break if you really want to wait that long.

A bundle of all the other banks is an interesting idea. I'll try to figure out a fair price and see if it's possible before Christmas. Thanks for your intrest.

I'm sorry to say, Daniel, I am not going to wait for the bundle. As soon as your server maintence is finished, I'm buying the Oberheim 1. :hihi:

Also, are their any plans for more Choir sounds or voices? i.e. Like Symphony of Voices... Now I know they're samples, but has anyone considered doing something like a SOV preset bank?

The problem with doing a bank like that is paying the liscense cost to use someone else's samples because I don't have access to a great choir. Several hundred copies would have to be sold to realize a profit or the price would need to be artifically high.

If a great opportunity comes my way, it is a possibility. However, until my business and customer base expands SOV can't happen. Asking never hurts since it gives me a compas for the future so don't stop asking!

Daniel,

I bought both Moog banks and now the Oberheim bank. You did a pretty good job with all those patches and waveforms! Congratulations! :D

I have a suggestion: I would like to use these Moog and Oberheim waveforms in other synths which can import external waves in some format (e.g. Kubik, Pentagon and VAZ). Could you transform this (your waves collection) into another product? I believe more people could be interested especially considering the high quality of your work with Rhino.

What if I recorded some samples for you? :-)

Thanks for responding. BTW, I love your Oberheim 1 Bank. Nice work and I look forward to your future offerings.

Hye all.

Daniel, the question of samples is a hard question.
Two years ago, i've begun to release Refill CD for Reason using my private samples of my Alesis QS8 and after on my Yamaha AN1X.
Each time, i've sent messages at this two society to know if i had the right to do it.
No answers.
So, i did talk with a lot of persons and everybody has its own opinion.
So...i did mine !
and, for me, when you do a sample of a sound, it becomes yours. In fact, in the same way, when you record a music with a synth, you don't have to pay something to the manufacturer no ?
So, here'is my position.
And now, i think about re-use some samples for Rhino...

Daniel

I second the choir and voices bank. This is probably the only area I feel Rhino is weak in.

These sounds are notoriously problematic sounds to get hold of. If you were nail that one I'd be buying it (but then again, I've bought all the other stuff you've done!! :D

Keep up the good work, Daniel!

I'll see what I can do with a choir bank or at least produce a few more better ones.

According to an article I read in Keyboard some years back: Sampling and redistributing/selling copywritten material is prohibited. Using sampled material as a performance is not. For example: the SOV samples cannot be resampled and sold. However, you can record them playing in your song and sell that if you purchased the SOV disk first.

Using sampled snippets from a copywritten performance in your music is also illegal. That's why you must get written permission first even if you use it in your performance.

Not too much grey area there. I will provide Rhino users the best that I can as long as it's inside of the law. I will respect someone else's samples because I hope others would respect my samples, too.

Daniel, I have faith in your words. If it works out that you can add or create a Choir bank, you've got another sale. If you can't do it for whatever reason, I still love ya man. :hihi:

But thanks for fielding the idea.

Keep up your excellent work.
