How to send a MIDI command to my controller under specific conditions?

I have an AKAI MIDImix and it is configured with the buttons for CC, however the LEDs are activated/deactivated with separate messages. The CC (instead of NOTE <-- which is the default) has been the only way I have been able to get the buttons to control Waveform.
So, as examples, what I want is to send MIDI 90 01 7F whenever Track 1 is toggled MUTE to ON and MIDI 90 01 00 whenever Track 1 is toggled MUTE to OFF. I want to send MIDI 90 09 7F whenever Track 3 is toggled REC ARM to ON and MIDI 90 09 00 whenever Track 3 is toggled REC ARM to OFF.

Is this possible? I've been fiddling with this for weeks and just haven't been able to wrap my brain around making it work.

Or has someone come up with something that actually works better?

I don't have anything like this, but MIDIOX is a great little tool to see exactly what is coming from the MIDIMIX or any other MIDI device, so you can see exactly what is happening at that end.

The other thing is, are there several MODES in the MIDImax that allow you to set various device types, and then set the corresponding type within Waveform. For "simple" things it's even fairly logical to set up even a NORMAL midi keyboard to function both as a keyboard and controller (even if it has no control keys), so for instance C2 can be remapped as PLAY/Pause, and c#2 as record...

Thank you Peter.

I am aware of what is happening FROM the MIDImix. The problem is I have no idea how to get the specific MIDI commands to be sent from Waveform.
I have the MIDImix working to control Waveform in every way I want, the problem is I can't figure out how to get Waveform to control the MIDImix. The commands I have sent TO Waveform are not the same commands I want to send back as when the MIDImix was configured in the default, I couldn't get it to control Waveform.

I just want some way to "when condition 1 happens, send <string>" in Waveform and I don't know how.
