Go into the interface of the app, and under control, you'll seed Auto and Custom. Click custom and take the slider down to about 2250 (I got this from a video on YouTube), which keeps the fan running, but is quiet. Of course, the fans run for a reason, so once I'm done, for example, recording vocals, I return the fan speed back to where it was. A wonderful, simple way to temporarily control the fan noise when needed.

unless you need to run at a higher clock rate during those sessions and it's not an M1, you might want to check out turbo boost switcher (http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com). this prevents the processor going into the higher clock rates, which is what normally causes the fan to start whirring up. some DAWs seem to invoke turbo mode for no good reason - they will be nowhere near maxed out on processor but the clock rate goes up anyway.

Not a MAC-guy, but I know cooling. If you limit fan speed, you might force your CPU to thermal throttle (= becoming slower) :dog:.

Just get an M1 mini. Haven't heard my fan once.

Was copying an image to an SD card on my old MBP. Might as well live next to the airport..

Can't wait until I can get an M1...
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

The market for used Macs pre-M1 is not to be underestimated. There might be loud Intel ones still on the wild.
overcooking, loud and proud.

As soon as I've moved everything over to the new machine, I'll be selling the old one.

If everything else fails, eBay might help you get rid of the old one
