I’ll give it a try. Hell, it’s VST3 so it already has a leg up on a few expensive reverbs that have been mentioned.

Yes, start trying the presets. Dark room, for example. I have sold Nimbus because of the Izotope crap, and I am using this. Play also with the different Early reflections. I would like to know your opinion.

Since iZotope has acquired and now killed Exponential Audio, I need a new reverb that is as subtle and sophisticated and thoroughly realistic as Phoenixverb.

I don't get it. What has been killed about it? It still works perfectly fine here...

ValhallaRoom seems like an obvious candidate, if you really want to stop using PhoenixVerb, for whatever reason.

I'd just settled on Pheonixverb for my goto reverb, so I'm in the same boat. I was already not a fan of Izotope, but if they really have no plans to maintain these plugins, yet still list them at full price on their website, then I wouldn't touch anything they make. Though if Monterey compatibility issues are at least fixed then there's no urgency for an alternative.

So replacing one discontinued product with another?

Unfortunately update 2.0.3 Beta was the last one. At the moment, the development of the plugin is suspended.

Personally, I haven’t found anything that can replace Phoenixverb completely (which is to be expected of course), Verberate is close, ValhallaRoom not so imho (doesn’t mean it’s worse, just different. Harder to make as smooth and invisible as PV).
But then I haven’t tried every reverb plugin in existence

For real spaces nothing can beat IR reverbs. Have you tried the Liquidsonics range?

Fair enough. It's been a while since i last used VRoom, and, I remember it to be very clean, just like PhoenixVerb, so, I figured it'd make a valid alternative (TBH, I'm not super excited generally about the Valhalla reverbs, they always sound like "too much sugar" for me, meaning that they do a certain thing, but do it a bit exaggerated, if that makes sense. I recently tried Supermassive though, and I really like it. There are some really nice sounding algos in it.).

In general, it's always hard to name alternatives with reverbs, just like with synths. They're all different flavours, and none really sound the same.

It is extremely likely that iZotope, as they've already done with Neoverb, will bring out another new reverb. And this new product will be offered as a successor to the EA products.

In the meantime, the EA products will keep working under Rosetta 2 with a typical lifecycle of a software product. And when the new successor is ready, an owner of an EA product will pay an upgrade price typical of what would have been the price of an upgraded EA product.

And this will likely happen by next summer.
