Win 11 update

Updated from a stable win 10 to win 11 without any problems. Even old plugins like Steinberg virtual guitarist 2 and kore 2 with hardware controller run without problems like on win10.
I only had to activate some synths like omnisphere and rapid - but this had also to be done by some major updates of win10. Only my bcr200 controller doesn’t work, but it also made some problems on win10. Ah and the Steinberg elicenser Must be updated to latest version.
I was a bit scared that my ilok or waves could get lost and that some plugins or hardware controller would cause some problems.
In the past I never updated an OS. I used a fresh new installation of win8 / win10 etc.
but this time I tried the update and everything runs smooth like an minor update on win10
I have more than 1000 plugins and hardware controller like push2, maschine3, apc40, komplete kontrol, seaboard rise, linnstrument and touche se.

Good to know. Thanks. The main ones I'm concerned with are the Camel Audio apps. I don't see why they would be an issue, but I'm hoping to wait for good news before I upgrade.

I also have camel audio, all plugins and all expansions for alchemy - i have no issues after the win11 update

Wow. Thanks. I still use Alchemy. Working on a project right now with some of Dream Voices, 1000 Oceans from Himalaya, BTs Paradise (can't remember which library) and will probably find a way to work in some sounds from the Luftrum library. Also have a possible idea using a patch from Ian Boddy's Analogica.

Thanks for the heads up.

Will probably be a while until I buy a new computer with Win 11 though. I won't support stores with my money who sell for such unreal prices.

Thanks for the report. I will be holding out as long as possible, but eventually I will be forced to do the upgrade. What's the resource hogging like? does it need to constantly call home? can you turn off updates? does it use more ram and cpu to do what windows wants instead of what you want? etc. what's the hard disk space difference?

I was between projects so I went and upgraded to Win11. Apart from different looks in some places and some minor stuff, I'm not seeing any difference at all. Everything seems to work just as it did with Win10. Even my 20 year old Focusrite Saffire 24 DSP still works without a hitch, even though on Focusrite website they seem to say it doesn't work. Had to re-authorize Omnisphere and eLicenser but that's normal after any change in the system.

I did see over on the NI forums the S61 MK2 keyboard may not work on Win 11. I wasn't sure how common the problem may be, but I also didn't see a clear answer that it should work. So I'm definitely waiting on the answer to that. I use mine all the time.

@sacer, which Komplete Kontrol keyboard do you use?
