Inspirata and MIR really hit the mark for exactly what I'm looking for, with precise placement of multiple sources within the acoustic space.

But how are they regarding CPU?
Are these viable to use in realtime for placing individual performers/desks for a full string section?
Ive only just updated but the Personal edition didnt seem so bad on my ancient i5. 2or 3% cpu for each instance in Reaper. They have a trial. Also have a look on vi-control where someone gives instructions on using it in one of the threads. Cant remember her name offhand but she was very clear and knowledgeable. They have an online manual with useful practical instructions

Didn't 2CAudio drop off the planet 3 years ago?

MIR Pro 24 is not giving me trouble on resources. When I first started trying it, I was on a significantly weaker machine than I am now and I severely restricted myself accordingly. I'm on a 2019 MBP 8 core with 64GB. Back then was a MacPro 4,1 with 24GB.

It's made a HUGE difference for me, in terms of workflow; and the mixes, wowie zowie. I only have two venues, Synchron of which I like the wide look, and Pernegg Monastery which is not wide but quite deep (good for the more synthetic spaces).

I based this assumption on the fact that there hasn't been a software update or social media post from 2CAudio since October of 2018. However, it appears their tech support is still active as of quite recently. So I don't want to start any false rumours about their operational status.

That said, the lack of VST3, updates, or communication regarding the future of Mac OS/M1 updates gives me concerns about the long-term outlook of their reverbs.

in the long kaleidoscope thread they chimed in recently. they said they have to figure out entire new development platform and rewrite the plug ins in order to update and fix the problems. saving/recalling presets is broken in some of them... some other issues too if you want to wade into the deep waters of KVR disappointment.

apparently they work fine on windows 10

kaleidoscope is great for me on win10 - one of my favourite plugins but really sounds like there are problems on Mac.

So what is the difference between MIR Pro and MIR Pro 24? The VSL site doesn’t offer a comparison chart or other useful information as far as I can tell.

iZotope updating the EA products for Monterey is a separate thing from Apple Silicon. I think it's likely that the EA products will have an update for Monterey fairly soon.

you're more optimistic than I am. i have no reason to think they'll do anything w/the EA plug ins anytime soon... but would be a nice surprise.

maybe...but, imho the point is:
it is only running under rosetta2
and expereince (rosett1 with lion) told us,
that it won't be long until there is no more rosetta2
which in result renders EA (and a bunch of other izotope products) as EOL (aka not working aka useless aka....)

So, Izotope is abandoning all Exponential Audio plugins or I misunderstood something? If yes, why...because of Neoverb or...?

Neoverb us based on the EA reverbs; be pointless to offer/support both.

i haven't checked out neoverb. didn't really grab my attention. i got EA nimbus because of the unique extras built into it that aren't in any (?) other verb that make it interesting for sound design. neoverb doesn't have these things.

i haven't checked out the other EA verbs but others have commented that neoverb isn't a replacement and that it doesn't 'deliver the goods' of what makes the EA verbs special.
