Richard_Synapse wrote: Sun Nov 14, 2021 8:38 pm We like the new Silicon machines :) We would have released the native VST3s earlier but there was little/nothing to test them with. Now there's Bitwig and it appears to be working very well on M1, as far as we can tell.
Ableton Live will also have native M1 support as of 11.1, which is currently in beta.

Just installed it and everything was smooth. Love the new preset browser and the drag and drop modulation!

Now that we have this luxurious preset browser... it would be great if there were macros right here in the browser (for users that don't care about synthesis) and a way for libraries to have a cover image.

Anyway, thanks Richard for this!

Guys, false alarm on the presets being overwritten. This is my fault. I saved the patches in the legends user preset folder since I've been spending a lot of time with it, I forgot to save in the right places. No worries guys :)

intro wrote: Sat Nov 13, 2021 11:12 am To connect the patch to the author, the last 2-4 characters on the end of the patch name are used. DUNE 3 contains a built in list of authors whose patches are delivered with the factory libraries (such as KS, RH etc. - please refer to the "Appendix. Sound Design Reference" chapter in DUNE 3's Manual).

For example:

"Avalon RH" - the code is "RH", and DUNE 3 connects it with "Richard Hoffmann" in the browser's list
"Adrenaline KS" - the code is "KS", and DUNE 3 connects it with "Kevin Schroeder" in the browser's list
etc.

To add a new author's code and name to the list, put a file "config.ini" inside the Soundbank's folder (or simply to the User folder). Here is the template attached with some comments inside:

config.zip

The config.ini allows to add custom categories as well. DUNE 3's import feature respects the config.ini and copies it to the newly imported Soundbank, so please include the config.ini file with any soundbank you share to preserve your author name and your categories for the Soundbank.

Note 1: The author is displayed on the list when at least 1 patch contains the author's code.

Note 2: The config.ini placed in the "User" folder is copied to any new Soundbank's folder created by the browser (when using the "Create new Soundbank..." feature below the Soundbanks list).

Note 3: When editing config.ini while DUNE 3 is open, remember to use the "Reload Soundbanks" option from the MENU to refresh the browser.

Just did this.... indeed as Tek told me elsewhere it is easy enough to do.

What is great is that you can do one config.ini file and include all the third party bank authors names in that one and rename their patches adding their initials at the end. (Of course I will lose my Favourites setting for those I favourited).

My hesitation though is what Initials and user name will Third Party Bank Authors be using, as I may make a change, they come out with a new bank and use different initials and I have to change the suffixes I used.

For instance these are the ones I am using currently:

AuthorCode = TTU
AuthorName = Touch The Universe

AuthorCode = ES
AuthorName = Peter Brefini

AuthorCode = MS
AuthorName = Matthias Sauer

I MIGHT update all my banks, as I have five, totalling over 800 presets, it might take awhile. Furthermore, sending the updates WILL be probably a bigger chore, except for those who have ordered the full bundle, as I already know they have all the banks so I can send everything at once. For those with one or two banks, I'm afraid I don't have an easy way to do this.

I'll send out a newsletter requesting everyone with the bundle to reply and I can send the update. I 'll likely also add a bundle discount to encourage those to upgrade to the full bundle. Cheers

I'm thinking 12 dollars per bank that one does not own, so if someone has two banks, it'll be 36, for 3 more banks. Cheers.

If I get enough requests, Ill see if I do it tonight or tomorrow, assuming the drap and drop is as easy as I assume from hearing Richard. Cheers

I just did Earthshine in three minutes.

I download bulk rename utility, highlighted all presets, and inserted " TTU" at position 22. The blank space is needed. Then I created new bank, added the config file in the bank, dragged all the presets from the user, where I copied then, then pressed shift and highlighted all the BS etc and drag and dropped. It will tag as many presets as it can I guess. Brilliant.

I'll have all banks done in 20 minutes I suppose. Cheers.

Edit, all done, in five minutes :)

I'll send out a newsletter soon with upgrade options and to request customers to email me back with their purchase history.

As a bonus, I'll include the Expansion version for everyone, which includes the MIDI, at no cost. I really don't want to update every single thing.

If someone would like to upgrade now, please send a pm or email to tj.ivory@touch-the-universe. Likewise, feel free to send the amount to paypal (same as email) with a note and I'll send them ASAP, within 12 hours, no back and forth necessary. Cheers.

I think it's better to post in the Soundware forum 😉
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Respectfully disagree, this is directly related to Dune 3.5. I'll add the offer stuff in a new thread though, apologies.

The bulk utility app is more efficient than renaming all ones presets individually with the artist code after the preset. You can do all presets at once! This will save 30 minutes per bank!

Added new thread in soundware, not another peep from me guys on my warez, haha. Strictly Dune 3.5 stuff. Cheers

If someone would like a free soundset in the next five minutes, pm me. I would like to test that it works properly before sending out 1000 emails, but I need to do this asap, so I'll send the bank, you add it and let me know how it goes. Cheers

One final thing, here are the installation instructions, let me know if anything doesn't look right.

Download Instructions.

Extract the zip into the user presets folder, on windows its user/synapse audio/dune 3/sound banks/user

Copy wavetable folder inside the Dune 3 wavetable folder

On Windows: C:\Users\tjivo\Documents\Synapse Audio\DUNE 3\Wavetables

Copy the Preset Bank name with TTU in the title, so "bank name TTU" here on windows: C:\Users\tjivo\Documents\Synapse Audio\DUNE 3\Soundbanks

Note this is the same place where one extracted the zip.

The Bank should now show up with all Tags.

To Add TTU in the artist name, download the config file here.

I use the bulk rename utility a lot...

It's a very useful tool that saves a ton of time :)
No auto tune...

We have included a new "Import ZIP" function into the new 3.5 browser. So users can install external soundbanks with a single click, and it should all work automatically, even the wavetables and your config.ini should be taken care of.

So for sound designers, instructions could be as simple as:

1) Download ZIP soundbank file
2) Open DUNE 3 -> Browser then choose the "Import ZIP" function from the MENU

Arashi wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:00 am Great work on the new update! The new preset browser is very respectable. The author system is a bit clunky…would be nice to be able to just edit all those in the UI (the same way you can edit the description of a preset by clicking it). Category could be a dropdown instead of requiring you to manually move files into folders (i.e. even if they are still determined by folders, it could move the files for you and create folders if needed).

One issue I noticed is the browser does not honor the macOS "natural" scroll direction setting. There's a simple API call to determine the user's setting for this (but "natural" has been the default since 2010, so for most Mac users the browser scrolls in the wrong direction).

I really like the new Genetics feature. I tried it a bunch of times and got a lot of good results.
Thank you for your feedback! Natural scroll direction in the browser should be easy to do, nice catch :)

I noticed though that this setting, even though default, leads to bizarre behavior in some DAWs and some plugins. For example, mousewheel up moves knobs down while mouse up moves knobs up. Does not make sense to me at all. In Logic it all works properly though.

got a small idea, i dont see an option to bypass/mute specific MOD Matrix settings. you can right click and choose --- and set back and remember but it would be handy ;D

You don't need this line:
AuthorCode = CODE
AuthorName = Author Name

and this line

AddCategories = Category1,Category2

should be
; AddCategories = Category1,Category2

that is commented out, unless of course you wanted the browser to have two new categories. One Called Category1, and the other Category2.
