If everybody is submitting their "one extra feature request",I would like to add mine...

It would be great if each filter could be individually assigned to the oscillators and be run in parallel or series a la DS Thorn...

That would be a very cool feature :)
No auto tune...

This can be achieved if each voice/layer can have its own range set in the settings, ie c-c4, next layer c4-c6, etc. Nothing else needs to change. This way I can load more than one sample from an instrument, ie, bass c4, bass c5, etc.

Been on a list for years, along with sfz, layer mixer etc..... none of which are likely to happen

layer mixer?

Amongst a ton of other things...everyone wants something and SA has to pick what suits their vision and what will help sales (hence the new browser etc)

Sometimes the chances of getting what you want are slim, but that's life

I always find its best to buy something for what it is, not what it might become.

"Resume" "Failed-Forbidden." I just restarted it for a third time and it's telling me there's 50 minutes left. I've got pretty fast broadband and nothing else is happening on my local network. It was like this last time I tried to install my Synapse stuff. Very frustrating. Yesterday I installed all my Glitchmachines stuff and it went super quick. As I was typing this it went from 50 minuites to an hour.
Hm it works fine here and always has. It can happen though that specific networks are unable to connect to others. If the problem persists, it is best you contact us directly, so we can provide you with an alternative download location from a different server.

I've always had similar problems but no-one else seems to so I just put up with it. It's not like I am downloading from there every week so it's not really a problem.

This requires larger conceptual changes than meets the eye. A proper multi-timbral instrument is typically two or more instrument instances sharing the same interface. So one may have a monophonic legato lead on the upper end of the keyboard, and a polyphonic pad on the lower. Or perhaps an arpeggiator on the upper end but not the lower. The parts may react to different MIDI channels, run through different FX chains, have their own modulation system, and so on. Nothing is impossible of course, but implementing all this would make DUNE 3 harder to use in practice (and it is already a rather complex synth). The resource usage would be higher as well. We think a ROMpler is conceptually more suitable for this type of work than a synthesizer.

I also have something similar happen to me whenever I try to download from synapse-audio.com.

I was getting like 20kb/s or something and when it finally almost completed it just failed at 90%. I didn’t check the error code though.

Retried again and it worked at normal speed. I seem to run into this every time I download an update for Dune.

Fwiw I have a 200mb/s fiber connection.

Our servers were in entirely different locations though throughout the years, spread across the globe. If I remember correctly, when the server was in the US, you downloaded with 4 kb/s or something :hihi: It sure took the government down under a while to realize there's this thing called internet...;)

FWIW right now I'm getting 20mb/s from the server, despite the higher traffic than usual. Those with download issues please contact us via email, so we can look into this in more detail and also provide an alternative download location for you. Perhaps there is a pattern there, e.g. you guys all coming from the same place or so.

Also…you can just add multiple instances in your DAW and record-enable all the tracks. Boom. Multi-layered instrument with any combination of plugins you want.

I realize people also want to fine-tune those and save them as super-presets, but some DAWs will even let you do that too, such as Ableton Live's Instrument Rack, or Reason's Combinator (which does work with VST plugins).

I see, honestly, don't personally need any of those features, just want to load more than one wave sample. Haha, but I'm sure its easier said than done, or maybe, using the word multi-timbral is the wrong one, just load more than one wav?

Richard_Synapse wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 9:43 am We have included a new "Import ZIP" function into the new 3.5 browser. So users can install external soundbanks with a single click, and it should all work automatically, even the wavetables and your config.ini should be taken care of.

So for sound designers, instructions could be as simple as:

1) Download ZIP soundbank file
2) Open DUNE 3 -> Browser then choose the "Import ZIP" function from the MENU

Richard
Nice one, could thanks s be the whole zip files even with pdf files inside?

pierb wrote: Mon Nov 15, 2021 2:04 am Just installed it and everything was smooth. Love the new preset browser and the drag and drop modulation!

Now that we have this luxurious preset browser... it would be great if there were macros right here in the browser (for users that don't care about synthesis) and a way for libraries to have a cover image.

Anyway, thanks Richard for this!
Good ideas-the cover images we had already planned, just didn't make it into the first version yet.

Richard
Please, please, please do not put macros in the browser! That would be a sound design nightmare. If you Have to add macros, please, 4 maximum!

- visual feedback (optional)
- the genetic morph is great, i hope this gets even further improved!
- maybe a bypass button for each modulation

Somehow not many wishes so far, i really was disappointed with v3 but now im a happy owner!
Visual feedback and dragging modulation directly from GUI, not matrix would complete it. :hihi:
