Does anyone know how to modulate the Arp 1 or Arp 2 length parameter?
Its over for Bitwig--CUBASE WON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really forgot how good somehow dune sounds, i kinda would even say it has some DIVA character?

- visual feedback (optional)
- the genetic morph is great, i hope this gets even further improved!
- maybe a bypass button for each modulation

Somehow not many wishes so far, i really was disappointed with v3 but now im a happy owner!
Visual feedback and dragging modulation directly from GUI, not matrix would complete it. :hihi:
Totally with you here great point! :)

It is not among the modulation destinations. We could add it, however note what it does is "physically" changing the note lengths in either the step sequencer or the MIDI-based sequencer. So I would not really recommend using it even if it existed. A much better destination for this sort of task is Amp Decay/Sustain/Release, since this will behave in a very predictable manner and also per voice as desired. What would also work is an MSEG routed on volume and then using rate modulation to control note length, but that is perhaps overkill for what you are trying to do.

But it makes everything so small as to make it useless. Too much scrolling negates any time benefits gained from having a browser.

And in the end your browser would be hidden every time another bottom tab has focus so no benefit.
THE INTRANCER wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:54 am You will also see what is changing when using the Genetics feature whilst playing the synth in real-time.
No you'll only see what's happening on one layer. You'll never be able to see what's happening with all the layers when applying Genetics. Again not useful.
THE INTRANCER wrote: Tue Nov 16, 2021 2:54 amThere is also shorter distant to drag and drop patches to the Genetics layer area.
Shorter than two inches of screen space? What would that possibly save? A quarter of a second if that?

I appreciate your efforts but sorry I think it's a poor concept.

Visual feedback :hihi:
We have all the visual feedback we need from the Mod Matrix at a single glance. Source,AMT, Destination, and Voices(s) affected.

You'll never get that same feedback from color rings on the knobs or any other method. Mostly because in order to see all the modulations you'd need to bring in to focus every active layer and every bottom tab one after the other and then look all over the GUI to see what's modulated just to get approximate values.

That's far less efficient than simply looking at words and exact numbers in the Matrix.

The thing that could be improved is being able to see all 32 MM slots at a single glance without scrolling but even then it's a simple task to view all.

Sorry I don't mean to push back against people's feature requests but sometimes things that work in one synth simply won't work in another due to the differences in architecture.

Visual feedback would totally work and be a lot of fun too. I'll go further to say moving LFO shapes and stuff would be great too. :tu: can't wait for visual feedback

Ok then explain how it would work on a multi-layer, multi-tabbed complex synth and be better than what we have right now.

You know that "fun" comes at a cost right? All those moving LFO's etc require computing power and don't change the sound one...little...bit. They are nothing more than eye candy.

We're getting to the point where we're asking for pretty ribbons and bows to be put on the package that don't change what's in the box at all.

Again I'm not against any new features that bring useful functionality but just bringing "fun" seems like a illogical use of precious development time to me.

Your eyes can only focus and read one line at a time in any case, and you have five visible patches at any one time, plus you can filter down everything just as you can on the big browser screen and specifically vie the patch search field. It's essentially a mini browser with full functionality. When you switch tabs of the main display to Arp / Mod Matrix and Settings you lose access to the browser button and the other patch list. That doesn't need to happen if you have an alternate way to view the browser patches. Obviously, if you switch to another tab in the lower section of the interface, you will switch away from the mini browser panel, that's unavoidable because there is no expandability with the GUI, but it gives you more options in accessibility in using the synth regardless.

You will still see what's changed and that's something you just don't see when on the big browser screen, and you don't need to close a big browser screen to try and guess what has changed, at least on the upper part of the GUI in immediate effect.

Any workflow speed improvement is better than none. You still have to physically move the mouse to drag and drop an element with a greater distance of travel.
I appreciate your efforts but sorry I think it's a poor concept.
No, you are just trying to find fault in something because that's your primary aim. You have a personal bias against in those you see as wanting improvements in Dune, not for the benefit of the product, but based on individuals that want to see things change. I don't remember you calling for a new browser in previous threads. You tried to argue that you didn't need to see the browser page at all times if one wanted to as well, and there is no logic in why that would be.

It's like you are trying to stand in the way of development and police what people ask for or suggest with really weak arguments. It's like a kid with a toy and his brother is putting better wheels on his car, but the kid doesn't want it because it's not the same car he bought from the shop with the same wheels with the brand name on it and that of the original maker of the toy car.

Very nice update! New browser is cool and the patch generation is a cool feature.

Since 3.4.1 at 96/32 in Cubase there are some cracks and pops even if the cpu usage is still really low (9900k). There was no such problem before that version.

Just a three note chord on one of the stock presets.
