MIDI Drag and Drop with Cubase SX 2?

Is there a way to drag in a MIDI file into SX 2 and NOT have it create a new track? Am I missing something stupid here? I've been through all the preference dialog boxes I think, but not finding anything. Anyone got a solution, or is this a 'feature'? What I'm attempting to do is drag a MIDI file, or in this instance, drag a midi clip out of RMX into SX onto an already existing MIDI track.

In SX3, the preferences option MIDI file import - "import dropped file as single part" should be checked.
There is still an issue in SX3 with dragging/dropping MIDI from any plugin other than RMX (works fine from Windows explorer). Check this topic for more details.
