it's about the same as v2 really.
Their GUIs seem to take two steps forward and three steps backwards. So fiddly. Timeless 3 is bad enough.
I'm personally more than happy with the Drop.
Just hoping it gets an M1 native version soon like FabFilter.
Great company, clean plugins, a bit sterile though.

A little bit underwhelming as an update, I think UVI Shade still wears the crown as an ubber flexible filter/EQ (but then I am one of those few people that actually doesn't like the Fabfilter GUI paradigm much, I find it fiddley)
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Like many of my recent FF purchases (I haven't bought this one yet), I wish for more presets... more creative presets....
I find bM (who I have said repeatedly here or elsewhere has one of the best ears of people I have interacted with online) presets more a, see what I can do (like honestly, why would we need V3 to do a compressor preset?), more utility patches than creative patches which is what I want personally. I am not at all saying don't include his many presets, but I would appreciate much more presets from different people (like the SM ones here on this plugin, I personally find more useful for my work, just wish they were more of them).
And I am starting to really wonder if I do gel with FF's legendary GUI's beyond Q3 and the older ones like Pro DS and Pro Gate, I am beginning to find their unorthodox GUI's a bit less and less intuitive.
That said they do know their DSP and it sounds great.

Glad its not just me, I find the way UVI Shade works far simpler and easier to use and visualise (also 100's of really useful pre-sets including an extra 50 in the .1 and .2 updates!).
You could argue Shades replaces Pro Q and Volcano and is frequently on sale for less than $80... (was $79 on launch) so be interesting to see what they do for BF.

selecting a 1/8th delay on the Timeless init is 'click a tiny fidldy half disguised icon - find it in the list - click - click on the fiddly icon again - select "straight" - click again... it's a pain in the f**king ass.

Thanks, i initially actually got a tiny bit interested, despite detesting previous versions of Volcano and even their “MSEG/Step LFO“ system is now so much behind stuff like Serum, Vital, Zebrify, and probably lots more, both in terms of flexibility and actual speed / ease of use that it's not even funny.
Oh, and yes, despite a few nice additional features in Timeless 3 (which weren't even that special sounding at all), i also think workflow wise it was a big step back from T2 in most regards.
Probably going to demo it anyway to give it a fair chance though.
It can only exceed my expectations though

Again an expensive upgrade and not even possible via retailers - come to think of it, not even the Timeless 3 upgrade hit the retailers so far. Well, it's their loss - I have far too many plugins already anyway. (Of course I'll purchase more, just no FF ones then... )

You bet I'd much rather spent 80 on the full Shade license than 55 on the Volcano Upgrade... in fact if UVI offer a BF deal for it, my contempt for FF's style of business will serve as an additional inducement to purchase Shade.SLiC wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 10:51 am You could argue Shades replaces Pro Q and Volcano and is frequently on sale for less than $80... If anyone would like a 10% discount code, pm me an e-mail address and I can send you a referral code.
Not sure if these double up with any BF discounts that are forthcoming but might save you a bit more if you so wish.

My upgrade price was 38€. Not unhappy at all. If UVI make a fantastic offer, I might get that, too.jens wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:13 pmYou bet I'd much rather spent 80 on the full Shade license than 55 on the Volcano Upgrade... in fact if UVI offer a BF deal for it, my contempt for FF's style of business will serve as an additional inducement to purchase Shade.SLiC wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 10:51 am You could argue Shades replaces Pro Q and Volcano and is frequently on sale for less than $80... Tbh, I could live with only one filter if that one could go from nice to nasty, both in resonance and saturation. I have not found that, yet.
..off to play with my music toys - library music production.

Nice update! Can't complain about 40$. Absolute UI improvement compared to v2, not only regarding the color scheme but also less boxes and cluttering. Nothing is missing and all controls are more clear than before (especially the routing pictograms which were an issue in v2 with white font color on light background). As usual the presets from v1 & v2 are available as well so there's a whole bunch of stuff to begin with. The only thing I would have wished for is more filter bands. Don't know why there's this limitation. I guess because of the pre-defined routing.

I’m using timeless3 90% more than 2. Its become my go to delay.
I already use volcano everywhere where i dont use Runciter, so i imagine this will only make me use it more. I love the new UIs.
I tested shade but didn’t gel with it the last time.
