BTW, is this guy replacing Mattias / @anosou? Wearing "his" shirt for the photo seems like a passive-aggressive dig.

Sounds like a few new devices inbound early next year (bassline generator/player ands a new FX)

I hope whilst they are looking at hardware integration they add proper Komplete Kontrol keyboard support, it must be the only DAW without it?

Let's Moan About the Sequencer!, luckily I don't have to ... https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic. ... &t=7514062 I totally agree on sentences like this
Then imagine a diehard Cubase user giving the standalone experience a spin for the first time. What a fiasco. Nothing but a list of over 100 questions on how to do basic workflow things with nothing but "can't" answers anywhere they ask.

I have dozens of questions to Cubase users how to do basic workflow things I do in Bitwig or Reason and the answer would similarly be a strong and resounding "you can't".

For me, except for the lack of folder tracks and inability to extend/shorten MIDI notes with keyboard Reason's sequencer is pretty much enough. And they're far from being a deal breaker.

I would add folders first then marker tracks

but the others are useful too http://soundpeaks.net/blog/cubase-hotkeys-with-examples, anyway it would work at least on the level of Bitwig (sequencer part)

I can't imagine why R still needs new devices
New devices

It is always part of our plan to release several creative devices during a year. And we are always eager to listen to you guys on what you are missing or what you have dreamt of. Please reach out to us on social media!
 (how I like the marketing-driven development)

ps.
glad to know they’re still working on more devices. the seven thousand devices we’ve already got in Reason just aren’t enough!

Reason has to develop new instruments and FX in the same way NI and Arturia do...they sell a 'collection' of instruments and FX (the rack) to use in any DAW and they also sell subscription, so obviously they need to add new stuff....Obviously the sequencer should also be developed, but Reason is as much (maybe more) about 'the Rack' as it is the sequencer, its the only real USP for Reason....with all the CV instruments and 'players' I often use Reason more like a modular set up, and it does that better than most DAWS.

They have Peter "Pelle" Jubel in the team. He's a true DSP specialist who engineered the original Clavia Nord Lead, as well as the algorithms in previous high profile Propellerhead synths. DSP programming is an art of its own, and using him for general programming tasks (such as improving the sequencer) would be a waste of resources, in my opinion. I also doubt that he would enjoy it.

Are you implying he's the only programmer in Reason Studios? Hope not ;)

I would pay a reasonable fee for a HD update to Reason Intro 11 (I use the rack quite a lot) and an upgrade to the full version of the soundbank for the included instruments, but yeah neither of those things is ever gonna happen. :clown:

Hehe, I must learn to quote properly. To clarify, it was a response to this:

My point is that they are working on devices because they have a true DSP specialist in the team.

Yeah that would be waste of resources.

That person is moaning about the rack of all things? Cubase users would probably find the rack extremely easy to use. If you know how to wire up signal cables in a studio then you can use the Reason rack. They use Reason for teaching signal flow and patching in many beginner music courses. Reason's one of the oldest DAWs and a lot of people use it as a second DAW or plugin instrument rack.

HD seems almost complete - just the blurry icons in the browser that I can see

Nothing in this update that would interest me as a Reason DAW user in any ever-so-slightly way....
I guess now it's official that they indeed abandoned the DAW for good, whatever kind of trash-talking they may ever stoop down to (anything goes with their current CEO, as we had to learn).
