He's a true DSP specialist who engineered the original Clavia Nord Lead, as well as the algorithms in previous high profile Propellerhead synths. DSP programming is an art of its own, and using him for general programming tasks (such as improving the sequencer) would be a waste of resources, in my opinion. I also doubt that he would enjoy it.
If he would seek to figure out how to do polyphonic pitch detection for the Pitch Editor he'd be busy for a while, I'd guess - and plenty of other DAW-related DSP stuff to come up with as well, I'd say.

I guess now it's official that they indeed abandoned the DAW for good, whatever kind of trash-talking they may ever stoop down to (anything goes with their current CEO, as we had to learn).
Notice, that in previous roadmap they mentioned "sequencer updates" as an area of their research, but now it's not there... :(

The integrated and easy to use pitch editing is one of the strongest features of REASON as a DAW. It is where it is currently far superior to other DAWS like Live and Bitwig, if they continue to develop this I will be very happy.

Obvious bugs - like glitching GUI, problems with browser, Mimic not working in certain scenarios, etc. - should've never get out of beta stage... Fixing them isn't a praise-worthy endeavour :)

In which reality is that? Software bugs are a fact of life.

No, not such obvious ones like I described. At least I've not seen Bitwig, Ableton, Presonus or indeed Reason before v12 to shit the bed like that.

All the software you mentioned has bugs. Reason 12 has bugs but no real show stoppers as far I can tell. In my opinion Ableton Live 8 was worse than Reason 12. Ableton even had to halt development of new features for a few years just working on bugs.

Just wish the resizing was a bit 'smarter' - draggable corners in the rack instead of fixed window sizes for example, and zoom for devices shouldn't also zoom the top bar by the same amount, which ends up taking up too much space - fixed rack size also makes it drop off the bottom of the screen too easily even if there's a ton of space left in the rack.

Why would they? I'm on R11. ;-)

That's what I meant with "trash-talk"... can't believe a word of what they say anymore. Everything they do has become this tiresome dusty corporate bullshit. Can you believe there are people out there believing this still works? :-o

If they are going to keep offering annual subscription for 99 USD they should just keep it at that price permanently.

No, that's not why. I bought 1Y of R+ for around EUR105 and I intended to actually use it myself, but at current state of R12 I'd rather wait until Q2-Q3 next year, so I figured I'll sell the code. If there's no buyers, I'll use it myself.

I was "sad" because I hoped the sale would also include RS devices and it does not. Since I posted more 3rd party stuff went on sale, so that's something at least :)
