Yeah, I'm also a bit lost regarding this whole thing.
I uninstalled Avenger when the Codemeter debacle started and didn't use it since then.
I too would prefer a clearer roadmap concerning this than the alleged "M1 compatibility".
That could mean that a version later it's back as soon as Codemeter works on M1...?
What I would like the most is if the devs would talk to Urs @ u-he and adapt his copy protection model.
That to me looks still like the best solution for customers and seems to work for a very well liked dev of high end plugins.
I know he is willing to share his approach.
But anyhow, I'm left with a strange feeling from all these shenanigans and can't imagine it's doing them any good.
Cheers,
Tom

Wow, finally good news. Not that I personally care, because I require codemeter to run Reason, but great for everyone else.
Now, if only they'd add crossfade to the parts of the synth that loop, it being 2021 and all.

Might there be a question in how long they keep this decision or move to yet another method?
I've known people to change their birth control in much the same way here.
And that often results in someone getting f'd in an inconvenient time.
Seems like time in consistency is needed before a new purchaser might want to join in now.
Maybe they should a limited time 50% off deal now.
I've been watching this plugin for quite awhile, yet see this as something to still make me hold off of as much as it coming closer to purchasing it.

I actually didn't mind since Reason is also using CodeMeter, but the implementation differs a bit between Avenger and Reason, and I guess I was lucky not having any problem with Avenger.dune_rave wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 7:53 pmhaha... i was thinking on the samestarflakeprj wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 7:20 pm I wonder when the rage comes from those who bought Avenger at v1.5 or later, those who bought it when it had CodeMeter. Not bothered. Codemeter was okay, not perfect. Never stopped me using it, but if it gets changed to something simpler, great.starflakeprj wrote: Sun Nov 21, 2021 7:20 pm I wonder when the rage comes from those who bought Avenger at v1.5 or later, those who bought it when it had CodeMeter. Would be nice if this were the last change, though. I doubt they'd ever go back to Codemeter given everything, but if they got hacked again I'm worried they my try yet another method which would piss people off.

I didn't had problems with Codemeter and re-registering every 3 month. But if the future gives a more simple way, i am happy for those who had problems with Codemeter.

I really want to pick Avenger back up once they ditch CM, but is there any word on them keeping the serial (for the 2nd time)? Or is this just a stepping stone to help them move to the next protection method?
Yo.

Would be very cool if they change to a better method! I would finally upgrade from 1.49. I still like the synth and keep using it from time to time.

I haven't got around to selling mine (uninstalled because of codemeter). Now I'm looking forward to 1.8.0 update instead.

Maybe I believe more in Avenger than the developers themselves. A product of excellence, with periodic updates and reasonable price, can be successful and bring a lot of money to its creators. On the contrary, changes all the time without an established direction, are bad for everyone, especially honest customers who somehow bet their chips on that product. The result of a job well done will always bring good results, money is a consequence.
I can mention here Steve Duda, who at the time of Serums release maybe didn't have great pretensions, but in a short time managed to transform the Serum into one of the greatest synthesizers of all time. Serum is a great product, because Steve is a great man, treats his customers very well, provides impeccable support, and is always looking to bring something new to vst. Is there any secret to this? No, I hope that Vengeance really makes changes that contribute to the well-being and loyalty of customers, I'm sure it will be worth a lot, because most people buy a good product and don't support piracy.

Say what you want about codemeter (I'm not a fan either), but the codemeter version of avenger is the only synth I can think of that doesn't seem to have been cracked, or am I wrong?
