There are two version for download one with all the mucsic examples at i think 7 megs and the stripped down version is 1 or 2 megs,.. I think ,how bas is your connection ? You should still be able to download the large version with a little patience.I think it may contain xxtra features as well.Shamanix wrote:Can anyone tell me the size of this?

Nope, Serbia
We do have some limited form of broadband here, but it's robbery I tell you
50 Euros for MAX 1 Gigabyte/month
on a 128 or 256 k
connection, hell in Hungary you get unlimited 768 k ADSL for that much

It depends on what you want to do. I would say that a MIDI controller is NOT necessary, because even people for whom a MIDI controller is indispensible could still theoretically get by inputting notes manually or using a QWERTY-to-MIDI solution like MIDI OX.
Also, if you're doing mainly Audio, you won't need one.
Tracktion itself does not respond to MIDI control-- so if you were planning on using a controller's buttons for functions like 'play' and 'record', then not only is it unecessary, but it simply won't work.

Holy mackerel, that's digital highway robbery! Hope you get better service soon, preferably without an Albanian invasion.Shamanix wrote:Nope, Serbia![]()

Or are you using a sneaky MIDI-to-QWERTY solution?

Yeah I did a slight modification of my MKey plug that converts MIDI notes and CCs to key events.Lunch Money wrote:Bah, I'm wrong, then.Won't be the last time....

I can scroll around in tracktion using a rotary control on my prophecy, and the lower octave controls various key shortcuts.
