i've heard some great tracks that have signature arpegiator trance lead. How do they program it? i meant the placement of the notes is just so fast for me to identify or figure it out

most of the times there are pentatonic scales used above simple major and minor chord-progressions.

that menas 1 - dim 3 - 4 - (sometimes dim 5) - 5 - 7 of a scale.

you can add the 2 and the 6 ... and xou´ll get the minor scale.

Not sure: I just place randomly (usually at 1/8, sometimes at 1/16, depends on the bpm tempo)) at the piano roll the notes that belong to each chord and test it.

Or I use the synth's arpegiator, when it has one. IMO the one which works best is Lallapallooza Lite.
