Hi, I've been shopping around for ages not really sure of which direction to go in. I've had a ton of control surfaces in the past, but I still haven't found the ideal workflow in the studio. I'm not in the position to warrant a big desk anymore, I have 2 preamps on my RME Babyface that I can plug mics into, and i've barely got any hardware left to even plug into a desk anyway. I keep gravitating to a touchscreen i think...
on the "fader and knob" side, there's the new SSL UF8 which is one strong possibility.
The muti-channel Presonus faderport only has one knob in the left corner for all channels, I think that would drive me insane.
I'm not sure about the Behringer and Icon stuff. The X-Touch looks interesting, but i am nowhere near any music store to check the build of them. I want something that feels solid to use.
There's the Softube Console 1 also, but i don't really use EQs and compressors religiously like normies. I tend to go back to my synth filters and envelopes before i add stuff like that.
I reckon i'd be happy to just use a touch screen, probably, but it looks like the Slate Raven is the only option for Mac users wanting multi-touch. Can anyone confirm that the Raven is multi-touch compatible on Mac? Also Cubase is the other concern, as far as i know, it's not multi-touch compatible?
Single point touch on a big touchscreen might get a bit frustrating after a while?
I spotted a smaller touch screen called an Espresso? An Australian company i think...

IMO the simplest way would be an odroid box (c2 would be fine) with android 6. A 22 or bigger Hans g ips and Avid control software. Ethernet cable into Mac.
But if you want to go down a rabbit hole their are plenty of other options. Lemur, open stage control, daw control etc.
Android seems like the best option for me.
Saying that I’m switching to windows soon so the whole touch thing may change for me.
