Amplitube 4 Max to 5 questions

I have Amplitube 4 Max. A while ago I downloaded the free version of Ampltube 5 (CS) but haven't really got round to using it much. It looks quite slick, except I don't want to see the shop all the time on the RHS - is there a way of getting rid of that?
The main question is - what benefit(s) do I get from updating from previous versions? It looks like I'm mostly paying twice for what I already have. Are there limits on using CS that I haven't run into yet? Thanks for any and all answers.

Thanks - that helps, and even better I see that limits the presets to what I own too. I really want to get rid of the whole panel though and keep it a bit smaller visually.
Anyone know what's actually new in each version from the perspective of a 4 Max owner?
EDIT - ah this might be a clue - you can also show what you DON'T own. In my case collection-wise that's Brian May, Dimebag Darrell, Joe Striani and Leslie. I don't know if all the individual products are included in those collections. Even in the full 15 page comparison pdf - https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/i ... arison.pdf - it's unclear, but I thiiink it's just the MAX version. In fact, displaying just the stuff I don't own is miniscule compared to what I do - circa 50 vs 2,000! Crazy upgrade prices.
SE for $40 seems too offer more functionality, such as room types and simultaneous amps - that worth it in anyone's opinion?

I found some models to sound quite different. In most cases, strangely, I found V4 to sound better. I only one I member which sounded better (actually a lot) in V5 is the Vox AC30 mdoel (British Copper). And you have the new impulses/cabinets (I mostly use 3rd party impulses which is, however, not necessary in V5 so that is a plus).

Thanks - that's a little alarming.AKJ wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 8:23 pm I found some models to sound quite different. In most cases, strangely, I found V4 to sound better. Amplitube 5 is the better sounding version. Some of the amps like the Hiwatt are noticeably better as the cab modeling (a good improvement to an already good sounding cab modeling).
The only concern for me is that the GUI took a nose dive on A5. On my 16" Macbook, it is very hard to read some of the text as well as the input/output sliders are so small and I often hit the window resize when trying to adjust the output. Lots of wasted space. The sound, however, is excellent. Note-presets are often bad on amp modelers. Amplitube is very realistic to mic'ing a real amp, so you can make good or bad tones easily. Much of the competition sacrifices realism for an easy sweet spot experience. I usually use Amplitube 5, NeuralDSP, or Softube (just the Marshalls).
Unfortunately, the GUI is a downgrade, but the tone and the newly modeled cab section more than make up for it. I don't touch my A4 anymore. Nothing sounds better in A4.

Interesting thanks.
I called it alarming cos there I was thinking I'd just use A5 and use my tried and trusted presets, but if they all sound different that's not such a great idea. But forewarned is forearmed.
Still keen to hear from anyone who thinks 5 SE might be worth having over the free version for someone who has Max already.

The cabs sound better to me, too, but in most cases I found V4 amp models to be more pleasing. This is, however, subjective. Objectively, it can be stated: there is a difference.Synthient Sound wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 6:53 pm Amplitube 5 is the better sounding version. It is basically about having the full new cabinet options.noiseboyuk wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 8:15 pm Interesting thanks.

Oh - I thought I wouldn't get any new cabs with 5SE over 4MAX? As far as I could work out, it was rooms and simultaneous amps that would be the biggest changes?

cabinet options, not new cabinets, i.e. you can make full use of the new cabinet system. This is at least what I remember.noiseboyuk wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 11:33 pmOh - I thought I wouldn't get any new cabs with 5SE over 4MAX? Gotya - it does say something about a tech mode on top of drag and drop.
