kickdrum for NRG/Trance

nowadays NRG/Trance music has these thumping kickdrums, almost similar to House's thumping drum but a lil differetn i guess. if u're into this genre you should know what im talking about

I wonder whats the specific drum or kit they use? Or with just use normal dance drum, but with effect on them, and what kind of effect?
