Switching MIDI Port in Logic

Hi all, I have a weird little problem. I just got a new M1 Powerbook and a new installation of Logic Pro - I was running the last big release on my old computer and waiting to update to 10.7. I am running the Native Instruments Komplete collection and whenever I create a new software instrument, the MIDI input is set to Port A not Omni. This is only with NI instruments, other softsynths default to Omni. I can change it within the instrument but it's a hassle. This isn't the track setting but something within NI at the instrument level. I'm not sure what setting I should be changing to fix this as it never used to happen. Thanks!

Are you unable to get MIDI to the instrument in your Kontakt instances?
Until very recently there was no other option for the plugin than Port 1. There is something someone has written so that VE Pro may access the other 3 ports Kontakt has, and something something AU3 beta VE Pro but if you don't have anything else in Port 1, Omni includes channel 1 in Port 1 by default. There is no conflict produced by "Port 1" per se.
but if you aren't finding the MIDI data stopped from reaching the instrument, you have no problem (until you populate Port 1 w. other instruments, then you have to set Port 1 Channel x, same as it ever was). If you do, it's a new one on me.
