Web hosts.
Any favorite(s)?
Why?
I used to have a DreamHost plan, considering getting another with them, but, I dunno...
I'm looking for something around $10 a month or, well... less, but, I'm open to any thoughts you may have on the matter. (feel free to suggest more expensive plans if any good ones come to mind)
Something with a wide range of programming options would be nice.
I already own the domain I want to use.
Thanx for any thoughts / suggestions.

Although personally I'm with One And One.
Was with them before Spe3d set his thing up and I've had no problems with them at all.
But I was looking at Spe3ds prices and packages the other day and he does a better deal than I've got now, for less money.

I'm using free http://www.websamba.com. It's working for me very well. You getting 30mb of space FTP upload support and a very fast site, + you can apload pretty big files.
I also found a http://www.dot.tk that can give you free domain( as you can see in my signature).

I've been with HostRocket for about 3 years now and have been completely happy with them in terms of features, performance/uptime and support.
(I keep toying with the idea of just building and running my own server since that's what I do all day at work, but...nahhhh, I'll leave that at work

They are all on good servers, it just depends on your expected need, disk and bandwidth wise - if you think you are going to get quite a bit of traffic and host lots on Vids and Mp3's I would start with a GoldShot.
If its going to be fair use, not posting in large forums etc, you could well be ok with something like the Top or Silvershot - I would upgrade you at the package cost difference if you needed more space later without an admin fee, just the cost of the new package minus the cost of the one you have etc.

Ok! most of 1 and 1 don't offer 90 GIGs, (have not checked the US) they are normally around 30-50 Gigs and charge silly money if you go over it. I also notice they dont update the stats for four or more days if you do get a big bandwidth drain, and then wham!detfella wrote:just checked out your site Spe3d, do you go higher than 90GB bw a month for a package? i might be interested in swapping from oneandone
My servers - if you get to the limit you get a message by email at 80% - when you hit the limit the package shuts down. so no nasty bandwidth bills.
I can do bigger - the biggest package at the moment is up to 500 Gigs.
Send me an email with expected need and I will give you a cost effective package quote - maybe a 150 gig package or something like that?

Okay I dropped over there,,looks cool,I picked up the free page builder,,but that smartftp, it looks like a 30 day thing according to the home page. When I get all my ducks in a row I'll pass by and try something about mid level to startSpe3D wrote:Hi! vtx,vtx wrote:is that subbing inside of audioshots or just at audioshots?Glassback wrote:Spe3d at Audioshots of course!
