Check Serum's Global Preferences, see if the "Silence note + effect tails when host transport stops" is set to ON. If you need to switch it off, make sure to click the disk icon above, to save the change.

- I use it for layering as well.
- I also like using the standalone without having to start my DAW. The standalone allows me to quickly get to work. I can create and edit. And with a touch screen, I can even play and demo stuff using the on-screen keyboard. I don't do that often, but it's another nice part of it for me.
- Another, nice (and unique to me) feature is how you can pre-define a tempo on a patch rather than having it follow the host. I play live and have my entire set of sounds loaded into Ableton Live. I used to assign buttons on my keyboard to switch Live's tempo and was a step I wanted to avoid. I've forgotten and then the delay isn't right. That problem is gone using Unify. It's one of the most useful features for me.

I hope to, and I've tried more than once over the past three years, but this turns out to be more complicated than you might expect. It's definitely still on the to-do list, and in the meantime, all I can say is that I appreciate everyone's patience.

Ironically, I struggle with the opposite problem, plugins where I can't get the plugin window to receive keystrokes that instead end up triggering DAW shortcuts (in cakewalk mostly, but I've had it happen in reaper too).

Just been playing around with Blue Cat's Connector which allows you to freely route MIDI and Audio around not only an app (like a DAW), but also a local PC and a wider network. It looks like it easily allows certain functionality in apps like Unify that aren't currently supported e.g. routing MIDI from a layer to an external instrument, routing audio to an external effect and getting it back so for instance I can add my Korg NTS-1's Albedo cloud reverb as a Unify send effect. I also just did a simple test where I used one midi effect layer to sent MIDI out of Unify, transposed it in the DAW and sent it back to another midi layer and it was received seamlessly and it permits the holy grail I've been after which is to find a quick way to force all MIDI to a scale when I want it to, but to have a way to not use that when I am using something with keyswitches.

Coolest feature isn't a unify thing necessarily, but it's that if you have a mac and pc on the same network you can have plugins on one and call them from the other computer. I bought a cheapo mac mini ages ago and I can probably now get the multitrack USB audio straight from my TR-8S into individual BC Connector outputs and pick them up in my DAW, freeing up an entire 8 port MicPre I'm using with physical outputs. Latency is supposed to be negligible, but obviously I'll have to try it out first before I can say it definitely works. I know someone with the Vienna software and they've been able to do this sort of thing before so I imagine it'll work fine. Adding an M1 mac mini at some point for plugins and audio processing without having to chuck away all my Windows stuff would be glorious.
It's pretty cool, RRP on intro is $39, but got it for $34.71 at JRR Shop using the "forum" coupon code.

For now, the only way seems to be using something like Blue Cat's Connector from Unify to your DAW.
More info here --> https://forums.pluginguru.com/questions ... y-midi-out
PluginGuru is planning to release an advanced version of Unify this year, which will have MIDI-out and multi-channel audio-out support.

^Thanks for info, news, and links; will try BC Connector again. I couldn't get two daws to sync together when I tried it last.

I am afraid to think of what may be in store for us in Unify 2.

Indeed, I'm afraid I will walk to the kitchen to make a coffee and hear music and turn back to see a better version of me at the keyboard.Kalamata Kid wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 1:47 pm I am afraid to think of what may be in store for us in Unify 2.
