I was looking for a VST plugin that would help me "view" the harmonics coming out of different plugins.
I found "Signal Analyser" and I think it's supposed to do what I'm looking for, but unfortunately, I'm sure if I'm using it correctly.
I'm using Repear.
I started by inserting a tone generator (440hz), then a saturation plugin (Unit under test) and finally, Signal Analyser.
I then see a graph showing harmonics. Super.
But my question is: Am I supposed to make a "sweep" of the sine wave to look into all results in the full spectrum? How is this type of analysis supposed to be done?
