A weird one - seemed to stop transmitting yesterday for no apparent reason. Using Cubase Artist 10.5 (previously very stable).
So...opened up a project for finishing (can still finish it as it's all rendered down, some VSTi tracks which still work). Oddly, no midi transmitting when I opened up to play on my new Wasp :x . Midi Ports said out port inactive (Yamaha UR22) with the in port still active. Took most of an afternoon f**king around trying to find why and initially couldn't make the out port active again. Landed on the Transport Sync page and found that Cubase had unticked the midi timecode boxes for some odd reason (definitely not me - never been in there before, at least with this version). So - ticked the MTC box for internal and that made the midi out port active. BUT - still no midi transmitting. Input is def working - the green bars jump up and down on playing keyboards. I checked the midi cables and they're OK, even checked all of my midi patchbay ins and outs - all working. Swapped about a few keyboards and they all work as long as they're not connected to Cubase - so it's definitely Cubase.

There's likely some esoteric function somewhere that's switched itself off, but for the life of me can't find anything else. I figure it might reset itself when I finish this project and open up something new, failing that I can just reset the whole Cubase. If that doesn't work then I guess I'll have to reload Cubase again - PITA but easy to do. I wondered if it's the way I work - usually in the studio, but occasionally upstairs in the lounge and the laptop previously has automatically recognised the UR22 or that I'm on the laptop on the onboard sound. It's never turned off my midi before. I did notice that the GM synth was turned on as a port when this happened - surely it doesn't reset midi ports when you switch between onboard and external sound? Never done that before...

Any bright ideas on how to get midi back on? I know it'll be something obvious - the manual pretty well only says about the usual midi port settings page - which I've been in and apparently activated the midi out port. So I have an active midi out port but no transmitting midi. :?
