crashes here consistently..

This is frightening. Will you rename the folder Documents\RapidComposerV4 to something else, and reinstall the beta version? Try the same, and if it does not crash, please zip your old RapidComposerV4 folder and send it to me in e-mail. I am thinking that maybe a bad chord progression rule may cause such unexpected issues.

For a new installation it worked well here.

Thanks, in the meantime I saw your other post where you mention your configuration.

I managed to fix this kind of drag issue today, as well as the crashes with drag-and-drop you have experienced.
I'll upload a new beta version in the next 1-2 hours.

OS: Windows 10 Pro Latest
GPU: AMD HD 7750M
All renders give same result. And one more bug, sometimes when drop phrase mouse cursor not release event. It looks like Im not release LBM.

RapidComposer v4.3b17 is available!

This update fixes drag-and-drop issues. On macOS text editing and drag-and-drop works again. Please report any issues you find before the v4.3 release on Monday. Many thanks!

• Inspector windows are brought to front when needed
• Fixed crashes when Alt-dragging a phrase
• Fixed a drag-and-drop issue when the mouse button was released but dragging did not stop

Hello Attila! Entering text now works, but doesn't care about exiting the program from the menu.

Yes, I know about this bug but was unable to fix that because the program does not receive any events when Quit is selected from the menu. I'll try to fix this shortly.

That's awesome..

One more suggestion on the chord rules editor.. I would at some time, add an "Are You Sure" dialog when deleting all the rules..

RC v4.3b17 - I observe that it seems none of the popup windows are dismissable by keystroke anymore, but only by mousing to the X and clicking on it.

We need those dismissing keystrokes to keep the "rapid" in RC! <g>

Here's 3. I have not trolled every window in the program!

None of these potential keystrokes will close them:

W, Alt-W, Ctrl-W, Shift-W, Esc

k.. just wanted to be sure ... First thing I did was look in the short cut settings to see what is assigned to the W key.. The only thing I have is, just the W key hides/shows ALL inspectors.. which works for me.


If you close an inspector by clicking the dialog's X, it removes that dialog from the list of open dialogs, which the W key operates on.

ok, mine worked, so, I never tried to re-assign a key.. which makes me wonder if the hot key system broke...
