I've said this for a long time: that Absynth should get new, analog-modeled filters and oscs, and it would get a fresh infusion for the future. (I.e., I agree that the present filters sound a bit old-VST in a bad way. But they still are serviceable within the context of the overall synth, I just wish they'd move forward with it.)syntonica wrote: Fri Dec 10, 2021 2:40 am Absynth needs two things: an updated GUI and some updated filters. The originals are sounding a bit cheap these days. Hopefully, while NI furiously updates all their plugins for Mac, they slap a new coat of paint on.
What is the new Absynth?

Absynth 6 is a highly anticipated product for Komplete 14 next year. That and/or Battery 5. I can't imagine anything else considering other flagships have been updated in recent years and probably pretty much saturated in terms of plugin/software to warrant a major update (Kontakt 6, Reaktor 6, Guitar Rig Pro 6). Gonna be very difficult to resist the Komplete update if this becomes true.

Interesting. I have Vital, but it really doesn’t remind me of Absynth. Granted, I bought it at the cheap intro price, but ended up not really liking it, so maybe I just haven’t given enough of a chance.

Won't happen. Absynth 6 has bee "anticipated" since oh about Komplete 8?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Fri Dec 10, 2021 4:12 am Absynth 6 is a highly anticipated product for Komplete 14 next year. Also, didn't Brian Clevinger (Absynth's creator) leave NI?

maybe somet hings are 'outdated' but it still a perfectly capable synth. or better: it is a beast, presets from scratch, and you will get sounds blow you out of the water, or the absynth... so i take it 'as is', but a version 6, well why not, scaling ánd MPE, well....

The problem is, NI doesn't seem to know what's what anymore. I miss when they were doing creative and unique stuff.zerocrossing wrote: Fri Dec 10, 2021 12:35 am Absynth is the new Absynth. It just happens to be old. NI should hire that guy back. He knew what’s what.
Yeah, Vital can be fun but it's more of a slight tangent from from Serum than it is the new Absynth.cryophonik wrote: Fri Dec 10, 2021 4:33 amInteresting. I have Vital, but it really doesn’t remind me of Absynth.

Agree with zerocrossing and JerGoertz. Hire back Clevinger (if he is interested, even as outside contractor). Touch up the filters and GUI.
I still get many miles of fun from Absynth. I don’t use it for “analog filtery” sounds.

I only used the brilliant randomizer features in Absynth and the results were fantastic. Could never be bothered to program my own sounds. Closest I get today are Arcsyn, but that doesn't have any granular or sample based sound sources.
