And then there was 1. I loved the Monkees as a kid, still love a bunch of their songs, but they are so closely tied to memories of my brother that I can't listen to them much anymore. Except, maybe, Pleasant Valley Sunday, which is what my town was turning into when we left in 1971. RIP Mike, thanks for the music and the laughs.

he did the music for a movie called Time Rider in the 80's too, I didnt really think much of the movie but the music was good and my date was awesome

Loved the Monkees as a kid, too..Mike was my favorite, and I always noted the songs he wrote..in fact, I do believe 'You Just May Be the One' was the first song I learned to play and sing on the guitar.
