Hey guys out of interest i got soundtoys plugins a long time now and the rack is also just awesome! I hope they update their plugins some time.

Wondering if the h9 and h3000 plugins from eventide are something unique compated to the soundtoys bundle?

I dunno tze hardware units but i read the h3000 lacks some features as a vst and seeing the h9 bundle i wonder is there no rack or something? This would be nice.

Does anyone who owns maybe both can share some experiences? :) thx

I got both.
Eventide has its own classic legendary sound and it's reflected through their plug-ins while sound toys tried to create amazing fx without emulating a specific hardware.
There is a comparison videos on YT somewhere between Hardware H3000 vs plugin. The plugin is missing the reverbs.

I have the H9 hardware, H9 plugin bundle, the Eventide Anthology bundle and Soundtoys.

There is some overlap because micropitch and microshift are based on the same H3000 algo. I think the same goes for Crystals and Crystallizer. The people from Soundtoys had worked on the H3000 which is why they are very similar.

Eventide's H3000 is their "Mod factory" only. It's confusing because it has delays as well but some of the videos I have seen for the hardware includes choruses which are not in the Mod Factory. I think they were under a different classification within the H3000. Band Delays are what they are and probably the same as those on the H3000. Personally I've never really found a use for those older plugins, ie H3000 band delay, H3000 mod factory and Ultraverb (based on the H8000). I've tried with them several times and in the end I think I prefer the newer coded plugins.

I think the H9 bundle is

Spring, ShimmerVerb, Blackhole, Mangled Verb, Crush, Terrachorus, Undulator, Rotary, Micropitch, Crystals, Ultratap,

so Soundtoys won't give you those reverbs...but if you have Valhalla's Shimmer you may not need ShimmerVerb or Blackhole (although I've now sold my Valhalla plugin as I think the ShimmerVerb has more features). I don't find "Spring" very inspiring.

I do think Terrachorus or whatever it's called to be distinct from Sountoys offerings.

Likewise Ultratap has up to 64 taps, Echoboy has ??

For me there are plenty of alternatives to Undulator, Crush and Rotary.

soundtoys guys worked at eventide before creating soundtoys , maybe they made lot of the algo eventide are using. ( they made h3000 /3500 / 4000 if i m right )

i would say soundtoys is more into sound caractere maybe, i think they went into easier programing of the fx so everyone can use wihtout trouble also, compared to their previous work.
these complement well each other i would say and sometimes overlap.

i also really like excalibur when it s one sale it s a bargain.. it take some times to learn but it can sound pristine. i can reconize his delays.. beeing in lexicon or excalibur these make lot of plugins sound bad in comparaison.. if i want really lush hifi delay i go for this , just a very few other plugs can sound as good for that sound from the one i know

I have both the SoundToys bundle, Eventide Anthology and H9 Bundle and H9 Max hardware (currently, I only miss SplitEQ from the Eventide plugin lineup). There's definitely some overlap and I usually lean more/first towards the Eventide offering, but some pieces in the SoundToys offering has no equivalent, expecially in the saturation/distortion category (I think especially to Soundtoys Decapitator... Eventide has the H9 Crush plugin, but I think it's meant for a different purpose). Also, when it comes to filtering, SoundToys has FilterFreak, while Eventide has no dedicated plugin for this task (although the H3000 plugin probably can do the job, but it's not my first though when I just want a filter...). By the way FilterFreak is not my go-to filter plugin (I don't have a go-to, actually), I just wanted to mark this difference in the offering...

if you like to do crazy thing with fx..it s sure welcome to have eventide and soundtoys stuff , some overlap yes but you get so much more.. then depends if you need it or not, you should really give it a try to get a idea. ( h3000 plugins are not really user friendly )

There's quite a bit of overlap, but in general:

Eventide sounds more modern.
Soundtoys sounds more vintage with modernized features.

Based on tonality, this modern vs vintage is what you should choose between.

It's like choosing between Looptrotter SA2RATE (modern) and Culture Vulture (vintage).

As per technology, I think Eventide is more advanced. But if it's not for your taste, then it's not useful.

I had a H3000 and I think the plug-in sounds 99.9% the same, but it gives you multiple instances, easy automation etc.

What do you guys think about the h9 bundle at the sale price? considering getting it, i love blackhole but not sure if the rest is worth.

I'll let others chime in on what they think of the bundle, but I would suggest checking out the free 30 day trial to see if there's anything you like.

I have tried blackhole, mangleverb and shimmer sometime back just not sure to get the whole bundle at that tempting price, when does the offer ends?

I should start by saying I am biased.. I have had, used and loved soundtoys plugins from the time they became vst how many years ago.
never the less I know the eventide pedrigree (and their instant phaser and flanger mk 2 are my favourite phaser and flangers) so I bought the H9 native anyway because I got it at a fantastic price, but immediately parked them.
Why? I don't think they currently give me anything that I am not getting from soundtoys and valhalla.

But, I think if eventide comes up with an effect rack like soundtoys did, it will probably make me use them.

But as for right now, soundtoys to me, for me.
