First of all, 15 day demo with discount code "TRIAL".

Effect Grid ... splits the incoming audio not only into frequency bands but also into amplitude bands.

You can then use any other plug-in effects that you own to process the bands individually with extreme precision.
'Been following the beta testers on Twitter for a while. This thing is insane! It splits any audio signal into three customizable bands and each band into three amplitudes. Then you can put THREE of your own plugins onto any of the nine slots. This is a sound designer's absolute dream come true.

And it's only 35 dollars.

No affiliation on my part, I'm just super excited about this tool.

Two questions I couldn't find answer for on the website:

1) What algo is used to split bands, can Q be adjusted and is it lossless, i.e. doeasn't affect the phase?

2) How is the amplitude actually split? For example if I have a kick that peaks at -3dB but say halfway through it goes down to -20dB (which would be my threshold) then the processing moves - as soon as it crosses the threshold - from one 3x3 matrix cell to another? Is there any fade-in / fade-out or is it happening abruptly? Would be better if it actually split transient from the 'body', but it seems to just work with simple amplitude?

If i input 'Trial" the price is 10$ :D
i'm not paying 10$ for a trial.

looks like an oversight on the page

I would like to see some videos and/or hear audio recordings of what can be done with it. I'm curious about splitting by amplitude and where that would take me.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Hey, one of the 2 creators here.
Sorry for the weird TRIAL/payment bugs!
We're a very small team, just 2 people, and this is our first plugin so problems like these are kind of to be expected..
We intentionally didn't start to promote this ourselves to have a few days to catch those bugs, but it seems like the news is spreading anyways, which is great to see, just bear with us :)
We'll fix this as soon as possible, expect a fix within ~24h from now.

Sorry once again for the inconvenience!

1) We use linear phase so yeah it's lossless. For now you can only adjust the crossover frequencies.

2) The splitting is done with gates + smoothing in the form of fades. We have 3 different modes/presets. You can see them at the top of the plugin. They control the speed of the gates. The fastest speed is ideal for transient heavy sounds while the slower modes are better suited for synths/keys/voice/etc. It's not always 'perfect' but it most cases is does a great job of separating the bands.
Since we're having some issues with the trial version check out this short demo to get a sense of the quality of the band split. This is with the default amp band settings, so you could separate the transient even more by increasing the high band amp crossover.

This sounds interesting, I really like how izotopes DDLY splits the signal by amplitude into two separate delays so will definitely give this a try, thanks.

Band splitting multifx by frequency and other ways then processing the bands independently is one of the things I do with Metaplugin often, or use a software made for it like TRIAD. I also have Multipass which does something similar with Kilohearts' plugin ecosystem.

Even with those tools though I think the amplitude bands are interesting conceptually, could be used to give additional dynamic elements to a sound, I've used TRIAD's spectral follower to try to do something like that previously but I am quite interested to see what I could do with this.

Is the trial going to be fixed soon?

This is a great idea, the amplitude splitter is like taking the standout feature of UA G8 (separate routing of signal above/below threshold) and making it much easier to use with more flexibility.

This looks really cool and I’ll definitely demo once that $15 bug is worked out.

-Any native support for Apple Silicon?

-Only being able to activate one computer at a time? Almost every plugin I own allows at least 2 as a lot of us have our main studio computer and a laptop/travel rig. I’m sure most of us would appreciate stepping this limit up to two.

Congrats on this very intriguing release!

How are the frequency bands set - seems obvious that the slider at the bottom in the pic defines a mid band which then sets the other two frequency bands. But at the top of the pic it just shows the one band (200-4k) so it is a bit ambiguous for me.

Getting closer to testing this. Now possible to download and install the trial but the unlock system does not work for me yet. Now working through problem with devs so hopefully it gets fixed as I like the idea a lot and would love to try it out

Really like what I hear in the two sound demos posted above. Definitely interested to try this one.
If less is more, imagine how much more MORE will be.
