i use for distortion Ohmicide mostly but it seems ohmforce are not very active and the gui is not scalable?
what current distortion/multiband distortion is a nice alternative? soft, hard, very aggressive etc?

I love Ohmicide but I mostly moved to Izotope Trash 2 and Audio Damage Kombinat (simpler)

I still use Quadrafuzz in Cubase - AFAIK you can still get it as a plugin? Seems it was killed off then brought back. Have to admit I don't use guitars etc so I dunno if it's any good for that, mostly on synths - 303s that sort of thing and it works well. Sometimes the band splits can stand out like a dog's bollocks but that tends to be only on extreme settings, and with tweaking it can be made more subtle. I like the separate delays for each band so you can just delay the upper bits or whatever instead of having a huge delay mush - can be done via other delays but it's really handy to have it in one plugin instead of dicking around with splitting/filtering and feeding other delays. I guess it's not as mega flexible as some of the others but it can be pretty powerful...certainly for a distortion amateur like me.

Minimal Audio RIFT has been my ohmicide replacement. Different, yes; fantastic, absolutely. Ohmicide is abandonware and crashes my DAW most times I use it.

strangely, ohmicide is working great on apple silicon and Monterey. it didn't work at all on Big Sur so it's pretty weird that it's now 'fine'. i'm listening to it shred a drum loop right now and so stoked about it.mholloway wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 11:21 pm Minimal Audio RIFT has been my ohmicide replacement. nothing really sounds like it but Rift is probably the best place to look for similar feedback styles and waveshaping.
it's a real shame about ohmforce.

You may like Unfiltered Audios Triad, three totally separate bands on which you can dump forty odd different effects, some very nice delays and distortions included.kritikon wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 11:18 pm I still use Quadrafuzz in Cubase - AFAIK you can still get it as a plugin? If there's a VST called "Corona" (discoDSP), maybe it's time for an ohmforce product called "Ohmicron" - an organic distortion

Can anybody who's recommending Kombinat actually state if they can make it sound like Ohmicide? Because I've tried, many times, and I can't get it to sound anything like it. Maybe just me, sure, but after much tweaking with the different modes, despite it being 'multi-band distortion' I've 100% given up on making Kombinat Tri work as a replacement for Ohmicide. It just doesn't generate any of the same distorted tones / fx.
