What i miss until now is the ability to move fx plugs between mixer channels (this is really annoying), or to exchange fruity generators with vst/dx plugs quick - without cut'paste operations of note data.

You can replace any generator on the step sequencer by dragging a different plugin from the Generator Browser (F8) on it. This way you can swap generators without copy/pasting any note data!

works like a charm!

Give the man a break, everyone is entitled to their opinions and he does make good points.

I see alot of software doing these stupid updates that don't concentrate on the central parts but some less important things. By central parts I mean things like improving workflow. The new automation envelopes are ridicolus. You can only use them for audio clips but lets be honest, they are mostly needed for the pattern tracks.

500 new plugins won't substitute better workflow.

That's not correct! you can right click any knob or slider in any place and create an automation clip for it!
Automation clips are the best thing since sliced bread !

yeah really, read the manual....just because they are in the playlist in the same space for audio doesn't mean they are for audio...you should do more research before jumping to conclusions. I agree with Thomas, they are fantastic and even vst's without midi implimentation charts can be linked by tweaking a parameter a little then clicking in the upper left corner of the wrapper and selecting last parameter tweakedd>create automation clip. :D

fl5 is kinda screwy but i think the good outweighs the bad.. I have a problem where whenever i press a key, sometimes it will press the note below it at the same time..even when i'm just playing recorded stuff on it. and the fit thingy is gone. it was easier to use than timestretch when i just wanted to take a simple loop n fit it in. now i gotta do the autodetect tempo shizzle,n it doesnt always work well, n bla. maybe im just a dumb noob n duno what im doing.

i admit the original post was a bit ott in presentation but i personally think fruity loops as a host/sequencer is a pile of dog poo (well, that's a bit insulting to dog poo)...

does that make me a troll? it's just an opinion
Sorry, but that doesn't qualify as an opinion.
you are just uttering foul-mouthed insults.

Let's try to calm down again and behave like grown ups again.

Maybe he wants to zoom out to see all patterns used at one time. Only needed when playing a lot of patterns simultaneously, though..

I wonder if that made any sense..
yes when you have a lot of patterns of a project youve got to use the bar to scroll it , why not zoom/unzoom height on pattern since the wave playlist use it too? at least Cubase uses it and its a very ancient software...

Thanks and i agree. FL is just feeding the users with new plugins , but in fact FL needs to develop its sequencing/composing tools.. :?

not if your opinions are objective and relevant to your work flow (I know that sounds like an oxy moron, but it' not intended to). For instance if you're basing your opinion on a one time limtited trial and you haven't given it a fair chance then it wouldn't make you a troll, but surely your opinion would not be very objective. Saying FL isn't what I like and FL sux are two different matters entirely. I like FL, but a lot of that is it's what I'm use to, I got the free traction and it has yet to excite me...not because it sux, because it doesn't...it's just not comfortable for what I am use to.

When I worked retail the guy from reason was gonna give me a free version of reason for a bunch of sales I made and for a purchase I made for myself (then m-audio and reason had were the same company, or atleast had the same parent company) my soundcard aarrived in the mail but the Reason wasn't there...he said it's at the store...the only thing is in the meantime I quit. So someone else got my free copy of reason, had I got it I might have a different opinion now...but I'm use to FL and I think IL is a great company...so no you're not a troll. Just someone with his own tastes, not making a blanketed statement of the quality of the software, but instead colorfully expressing that it isn't for you...the difference? Two words "I think"... :D

Not necessarily, but the host/sequencer you *DO* like had better be *very* good, if you think FL is dog poo.

The fact is, there's nothing out there that is so much better than FL, that you can justify trashing FL the way you do.

For every opinion like yours, there are many who consider FL to be the best $100 they ever spent, myself included.
