Haven't demoed this yet. Couldn't tell from the documentation. Does anyone know which, if any, algorithms this is using from Nimbus?

Like a few others here, at initial testing I first didn't think much of it, because it's sort of bland... which is a synonym to neutral, and then it starts making sense.
Anyway, the masking feature is awesome. It would be good to have had size, tone etc as meta parameters rather than only available through the wizard, so that one could change this after one has made manual tweaks. If iZotope reads this thread, let's hope they'll include it in Neoverb 2.
Well, with time, it's found its way to more and more of my songs (both on separate tracks and on groups). It's actually highly versatile.

That was my experience with Smart:Reverb - for all the fandangled features, the reverb just sounded cheap and metallic - and ultimately at the end of the day...DJErmac wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 3:25 pm But the thing is I just didn't click with the reverb itself. I have far better solutions. Try it before you buy. It's not that impressive imho.
Anyway, now Neoverb has caught my eye and I wonder what the underlying reverb itself sounds like. Recently bought Tai Chi and that is STELLAR, so I'm guessing Neoverb would have to be monumentally good to compete.
Still, at least from my impression, the "smart" side of Neoverb is much more useful than Smart:Reverb.

I don't own Neoverb and haven't even used it, but I do know it was (currently anyway) the last Reverb Michael C worked on, so for sure I know it will sound great even if the concept doesn't fit my workflow.

But the unmasking feature is really something. A very useful feature, in my opinion.AKJ wrote: Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:00 pm I do not care much about the automatic aspect. Just think of it as a modern GUI for Exponential Audio algorithms. And I really like the mix grid.

How do Izotope crossgrade offers work, i.e. when they say crossgrade from any paid product does that include anything that was bought on special offer? I get the impression that the reason why the EA verbs are activated via iLok bypassing the isotope portal is so that they're not eligible for crossgrade offers. I also have Trash 2 in my account which I have no recollection of ever purchasing and it's not clear how I got it, perhaps it was over a decade ago (if it's that old) and a different authorisation system existed at the time.

I think that iZotope crossgrades work even with plugins that you got free. So "any paid" means any plugin that is not always free. But wait for someone to verify that first. And I think that there is no difference between iZotope and EA crossgrades? Neoverb is iZotope plugin and not EA, but powered by EA tech?
Sorry, many question marks

Yes, but at least for the last EA reverb I got from Plugin Boutique it doesn't actually appear in the Izotope account, the serial number is authorised simply by pasting it into iLok. Actually I think when I bought R4 from Plugin Boutique about a year and a half ago I did have to register it through Izotope, but that wasn't the case with Pheonixverb. I bought yesterday. On Audio Deluxe it was about $44 (FEB2022 code). The crossgrade was from literally any iZotope plugin, I think even their free stuff (Vinyl, Imager, etc)!chagzuki wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 2:43 pm How do Izotope crossgrade offers work, i.e. when they say crossgrade from any paid product does that include anything that was bought on special offer? There was no prior cross-reference with my account. Simply I put the crossgrade in my cart, went through checkout, received a serial, entered that serial into the iZotope Portal app and then instantly I had Neoverb there ready to install and activate. Very easy process.
As for Neoverb itself... I like it a lot! SO much nicer sounding than weak, metallic Smart:Reverb (puke...) - owing to the Exponential Audio DNA I'm sure. Has that smooth, dense tail that made EA reverbs famous. The smart features are really innovative and the interface is slick as - love the morphing feature.

Yeah, just got it. I realised I had the offer within the Izotope website so figured I was definitely eligible. Was hesitating and then the website decided to entice me with an extra 5% off. Clever website.MogwaiBoy wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 8:21 pm As for Neoverb itself... I like it a lot! First impressions are actually not so good, like others in the thread I think the default settings produce some strangely artificial tones. Seems possible to dial in something better though with some work. However, it's the unmasking that really interests me, and I think to properly assess it will take a long time.

Note that you can turn masking on and off in the bottom half of the screen. I for one like it a lot.chagzuki wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 10:15 pm it's the unmasking that really interests me, and I think to properly assess it will take a long time.

I just picked this up at Audio Deluxe for $43. I like the other EA reverbs I have (all) so this should be good. Did I really need another reverb? Of course not.

At least this one would allow you to "morph" between spaces and has an unmasking feature.trmupstage wrote: Wed Feb 23, 2022 5:07 pm I just picked this up at Audio Deluxe for $43. I like the other EA reverbs I have (all) so this should be good. Did I really need another reverb? Of course not.

So far I've found the plate reverb useful, the hall potentially useful, but the early reflections are odd. For the most part I'm either dialing the early reflections right down or switching them off.
