it's kinda nice.... haven't seen anything like it to be honest (then again I might not have looked too hard)... so is there?

wonder if it would work as a 100% replacement to the standard panner in a daw. or if this is rather something of a special effect....

They always come up with some interesting new little tools. I think the combination of different features is what makes this one pretty unique; yet also not sure, if there is already something similar out there.

yeah.... only recently got acquainted with this company. but they seem to make some nice stuff.... so far this and Luxe seem to be the most intriguing ones for me.

Being Haas + lowpass, I know at least 2 others plugins behaving the same : Auburn Panagement, and one freebie from the KVR DC called Proximity (from TDR).

indeed... tried the free version. it is great. still prefer Pana due to the simplicity but what I liked about it is that the mono button wasn't just momentary as it is on the Pana.

Don't get me wrong... momentary is awesome and what I'd want 95% of the time but I can see myself wanting to leave it enabled in some cases so an option to have it latching would be cool (maybe via the right mouse button or something)

Generally like Klevgrand interface design, but there's also TBPro's ST1V2 that seems to give the same general functionality at a lower everyday price point ... maybe lacking haas, and unclear if the crossover in Pana is the functional equivalent of a spectral pan. Will try to find some time while this is still on sale to do a head-to-head comparison.

Fabien at TDR said back in 2017 that a remake of Proximity was in the pipeline, so maybe that's still on the horizon.

Pantastic is what I use most. Wonder how it compares.

I listened to the Pana video where it compared typical DAW panning to it's own.. and it reminded me of Pantastic... in words, it sounds more like the instrument is "over there", instead of stuck on one ear.

The thing is, yes, it sounds more natural because sound on either side in real life will still hit both of your ears (one with a delay), especially in rooms and spaces. However, the old traditional method of hard panning is still very useful because you can completely isolate things to either ear - and so they do therefore often sound the 'widest' in that sense.

In fairness, they do say this on the product page...

the one knob (rolloff) part surely but the rest.... nah....
you'd need a multiband panner to leave the low band in the middle while panning the high band
and you'd need a delay.

It surely isn't rocket science, but a neat little package. that being said. I have purchased quite a few plug-ins recently while being consigned to my quarters with covid and I'm still not sure if this is really useful to me or if I just like the idea of it....

So pretty much a simple Ableton effect rack L/R EQ > Utility with bass mono (if needed) > delay (also optionally I guess). The best thing about this plugin is that it gave me the idea to mess around with this technique.

Had some time today to look more closely at Pana and the variety of alternatives before the intro sale ended. I'm going to give it a pass at least on the desktop. Also passing on the TBpro ST1v2. Seems I can get to the same place with either Nugen Focus bundle, Izotope Ozone Imager or Melda Mspectralpan ... or as Azbest points out, can be done in the DAW. I believe klevgrand even says the same in their documentation.

Klevgrand interfaces are second to none, and they put especially good thought into how their UI will translate to the touchscreen. So I did plunk down $4.99 for the ios app version of Pana to have it to noodle with on the ipad.
