Wtf? Objective opinion?hink wrote:not if your opinions are objective and relevant to your work flow (I know that sounds like an oxy moron, but it' not intended to). For instance if you're basing your opinion on a one time limtited trial and you haven't given it a fair chance then it wouldn't make you a troll, but surely your opinion would not be very objective. Saying FL isn't what I like and FL sux are two different matters entirely. I like FL, but a lot of that is it's what I'm use to, I got the free traction and it has yet to excite me...not because it sux, because it doesn't...it's just not comfortable for what I am use to.ttoz wrote:all jokes aside?
i admit the original post was a bit ott in presentation but i personally think fruity loops as a host/sequencer is a pile of dog poo (well, that's a bit insulting to dog poo)...
does that make me a troll? it's just an opinion
When I worked retail the guy from reason was gonna give me a free version of reason for a bunch of sales I made and for a purchase I made for myself (then m-audio and reason had were the same company, or atleast had the same parent company) my soundcard aarrived in the mail but the Reason wasn't there...he said it's at the store...the only thing is in the meantime I quit. So someone else got my free copy of reason, had I got it I might have a different opinion now...but I'm use to FL and I think IL is a great company...so no you're not a troll. Just someone with his own tastes, not making a blanketed statement of the quality of the software, but instead colorfully expressing that it isn't for you...the difference? Two words "I think"...

Hmm. All this time, I've been going to the piano roll, exporting the data as a score file, making a new channel, and importing the score file.thma wrote: You can replace any generator on the step sequencer by dragging a different plugin from the Generator Browser (F8) on it. This way you can swap generators without copy/pasting any note data!
works like a charm!
cheers,

Does the copy/paste method also preserve CC data as well as note messages?

I know that's why I said it sounds like an oxymoron...but it's true we all have our own ways of doing things and our opinions can be objective when they pertain to how you do something, your way. Can't you be objective about your preferences? Perhaps not, but that's how I see it.Wtf? Objective opinion?
I've gone through this for so long now...my own half brother would attempt to use his 5 les Pauls as proof he was better then me at guitar playing, when I say you can't be better then me...I can't be better then you...hence my signature

I am very sorry but I was fully convinced that those Automation Envelopes are only for audio clips. Sorry again for wrong statements.
This greatly improves fl but it would be nice if the envelopes were ontop of the patterns like in logic
This way you dont have to keep on looking for the corresponding envelopes.

Yes, I believe so. I know it at least preserves velocity. I'm pretty sure anything you can do in the piano roll is attached to the notes themselves, and not seperate CC data. I could be wrong though, since I never change anything but velocity in the piano roll.fishbowl.tucson.az wrote: Hmm. Just Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, open new channels piano roll, and Ctrl-V.
At the very least, you can do as others have said, and just drag and drop the new generator onto the existing channel. That's definitely the easiest way.
I've been begging Gol for a "Replace Generator..." right click menu on the step sequencer channel button forever. The fact I keep begging for it is probably the reason he's never implemented it.

yeah that's how it is for audition too...but they dont have as many enevelopes. With FL you can make as many clips as possible for as many features as you want...so it could get kind of cluttered..you can stack automation clips on top of each other if you like.

Ya, thats cool.
Too bad you can't for now drag the automation clip underneath the pattern and have a way to minize it and maximize like in cubase.
But the ideal way would be tho show them right ontop of the pattern track.
