I believe this the Vintage Drum Kits expansion was rebranded as Analog Drumkits:
https://refx.com/nexus/expansion/analog-drumkits/

The original had 65 complete drumkits, 66 loops and 10 bonus-sequences and 4000 samples.

The new one "contains nearly 4,000 drum samples, 64 drum-kits and 64 drum-loops" which is about the same. Maybe some samples were removed/changed for copyright reasons...

reFX have great drum sounds, but I tend to only rarely use Nexus for drums because of the lack of sep outs. Usually a show-stopper. (And yet another advantage of Avenger where you can route kit pieces separately)

Thank you for the information. Glad I grabbed this one with Nexus4. It's a nice one and the only such expansion available. :tu:

noiseboyuk: Yeah, having separate outputs would actually make the kits more usable. I am just thinking to record the kits as audio in the DAW and chop them up.

A bit off-topic maybe, but I realized that I could just use NI Vintage Heat expansion for this purpose. It does have some fantastic drum samples and kits.

Only $24.50, until tomorrow, and I think it is well worth it.

Can we still expect the release of Vintage Synths expansion around Christmas (2021)?

Can't get those! Not compatible with Nexus 3!!

Just want to be clear:

I have no issue with a product moving forward. I have no problem with older products being unable to work newer presets...on ANY synth or DAW. I can't load newer Reason, Nuendo, etc. projects in older versions of these programs.

I have no problem if you update your app, program, plugin, etc., often...even if it is once per year. I do this with some plugs and some DAWS.

But Nexus is NOTHING by itself. It does not generate sound. It is a ROMpler. It plays sounds. Given the nature of WHAT Nexus is...Nexus should be FREE. There I have finally said it. Nexus should be free. Charge me all you want for the sound packs/ROMS. That is where the meat is. Even if there was a base charge for Nexus...updates should be free. My basis?

Think:
UVI Workstation
Engine
Kontakt (free)
Play and Opus (free with purchase of a library)

That is the incentive to buy new ROMS/Libraries. But charging money for a PLAYER update...even if it has new features...it is still just a player. It can do nothing without the add-on ROMS. If you choose to give a ROM away at no charge fine. But consider not charging for the updates of the Player. Until then, I am out (not that I matter...just stating my personal position. I gladly will pay for sound generator updates). I didn't have this issue moving from Nexus 2 to 3 because of how much time passed between the two. But in retrospect, Nexus 3 has not given me anything fresh other than the new soundpacks. So I will pay for the soundpacks. But now I can't do that till I pay for Nexus 4. Nexus 4 is like Disney, ain't it?

Some businesses would offer updates free of charge, assuring themselves that upcoming content would be enough of an income source to cover the development & also to bring more customers.

Also Soundpaint and Spitfire engine (and they both offer free content).

Doesn’t the update came with 260 new sounds, making it effectively 2 expansions packs? €99 seems like a fair price.

If the update did not come with 260 new sounds, then you might have a fair point that it should be free.

Btw, which one sounds better? VPS Avenger or Nexus? (Because i am not impressed by the sound of avenger based on the youtube demo’s.)

Someone in the Avenger thread said that Avenger sounds better than Nexus. So I was wondering what you guys think about it.

There is no demo version for Nexus, else I would be able to hear it for myself.

They're more of the same of what's already in the base library. No-one wants them, no-one asked for them. Almost all others synth developers include extra presets with an update that includes any new features. Didn't pigments just throw in another 150 with 3.5? The presets were thrown in for this exact argument, but its not flying this time round.

Avengers the better synth, and I'm not just saying that because im salty!

Many thanks, that makes it 2-0 for Avenger so far based on feedback received.
