I just renamed the bin file to a much shorter name and it looks OK now, but they should have noticed it also.

I can’t see that being an issue, I’ve got standard Mac OS Monterey without any amendments. It could be an M1 thing but even then it’s a year now, and it’s not the synths that are the issue, it’s the invasive copy protection.Examigan wrote: Fri Dec 10, 2021 9:18 pm I never have any big issues with Roland Cloud. I wonder if some people here have certain firewall settings that might be interfering with it (?). The only small issue I usually have (but it's rare these days) is if RCM says something needs an update, but then it's actually already updated.
Zenology is not available in the Play4Life program. Only Legendary, Aira, and SRX instruments can be selected.cptgone wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:05 pm Despite my trouble with RCM, I got a Play4Life Cloud subscription. I already have a Lifetime Key for TR-808, and want one for the 303, but what should I spend the other free Key on?
I like the 909, but it isn't the most versatile drumbox in the world these days, and I suppose Roland Cloud has better value on offer. And as far as analogue synths are concerned, I feel I have those bases covered (u-he, fxpansion).
I used to make music with a Yamaha XG soundcard, and find myself tempted to give the XV5080 a go, as an easy way to find good (yet adjustable) presets mainly for bread and butter sounds.
But perhaps I should give the Zenology synth a go?
TYVM, I'll be avoiding getting tempted then. DLing the XV5080JamminFool wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:14 pm Zenology is not available in the Play4Life program. Only Legendary, Aira, and SRX instruments can be selected.
If the goal is to have a decent Juno, then either the Arturia and/or the TAL are way better options. Any Roland instrument is way overpriced, IMO, and the licensing method is enough to put you away (having to periodically login to Roland Cloud to have the authorization renewed.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:37 pm If you don’t already have a decent Juno soft synth like TAL or Arturia then give the Juno 60 a spin
Even the JD-800 wasn't ACB anymoreEchoii wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:41 pm What was the last word from Brian the messenger of Roland High Table? Is JX-8P / MKS-70 ACB plugin happening?
The sound generation is digital, but there are circuits, DACs, etc., nevertheless. Not all digital synths sound the same. D-50, JV-1080 and XV-5080 are digital too, and they were individually modeled.Echoii wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:47 pm JD-800 being a digital synth couldn't be "analog modeled", could it? JX-8P, on the other hand, can.
Yep, pretty much. It's just a reskin.Echoii wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 12:58 pm So they took Zenology samples and slapped ACB style GUI on top, is all they did? Lame.
