Why is FL Studio so popular?

Multiple Factors IMO
Most important: Even if you don't know how to use it, it's easy to use since it starts up with the Step Sequencer which lets you draw up a beat in a few clicks without you having to do anything.
It's fluid and fun to use. The Codebase might be old, but FL is the slickest DAW out there when it comes to graphics rendering. It's smooth like butter, I think this is subconsiously more important than people realize.
It's been around for ever so there are a ton of tutorials.
It has amazing Synths
It has concepts that other DAWs can only dream of like a modular mixer. the whole concepts of patterns is very intuitive and something that a lot of daws should steal imo.
just my 2c

"Nowadays, everybody wanna talk like they got something to say
But nothing comes out when they move their lips
Just a bunch of gibberish
And mother-lovers act like they forgot about FL Studio™"

I can speak just for me but FL Studio´s stock plugins are absolutely top notch and they are improving them all the time...wuworld wrote: Wed Dec 15, 2021 8:23 pm How many of you guys use FL's stock plugins vs 3rd party? I like FL's stock vs Studio One's.
I refer here to the "all plugin bundle" as it is already cheaper as the price of Cubase Pro, Ableton Suite etc...for me FLS has the best stock :
EQ, Maximiser, Vocoder, Chorus, Delays, Convolution Reverb, Audio Editor (something like this is unique on the whole market anyway), Patcher (compared to i.e. Abletons Racks or Reason´s Combinator), Pitch Shifter, Frequency Shifter, Gater, Frequency Splitter, Slicer, Distortion, Stereo Shaper, Transientshaper and Video processor /visualizer...
Not to speak of the generators...Harmor, Transistor Bass, Morphine, Ogun, Sytrus, Flex, Sakura and others cannot be reached by any other DAW...and even this little Sampler channel is nothing but amazing!
Many of them I consider as the best and most useable on the whole market including any 3rd party plugins...

Some of them are insanely good, like Sytrus, Harmor, Maximus, Vocodex, Slicex, Love Philter… (probably forgetting some), some “standard bread and butter“ like you find in most DAWs (EQ, etc.)
Of course they still carry some legacy stuff that's really just OK'ish too, but that's probably the case with any DAW anyway.
So it really depends what you are looking for in those plugins.
Having said that, even the most awesome plugins of theirs (and those are awesome!!!) often have some weird/illogical, or let's just say “different“ ways to do something than pretty much the rest of the competition.
Like some alien interpretation of what they observed being human

FL Studio all plugin bundle is just hands down a winner. And with all the features and how mature this DAW become its definatly on par or even above something like Cubase (Fl can even export notations).

because you don't have to do anything. You hit play and pump ten tracks of trash out into the universe. You need to know zero. Then just walk around with your shirt off and call yourself a superstar. Job done.

I don't actually recall ever having heard any of your music.Dasheesh wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 2:43 pm because you don't have to do anything. Hmmm. Perhaps would be nice if you're going to disparage a whole group of other musicians based upon their use of a specific program, to provide evidence of your own unimpeachable competence.
Or haven't you got the chops?

If you don't want the answer, don't ask the question. I answered your question. I'm not selling you anything, I'm not trying to influence you, and I'm not taking my shirt off. People use fruity-loops cuz it's dead ass easy to pump edm all day long without any taste, class, or history. That's why.

I'll take that as being that you haven't got the chops then.Dasheesh wrote: Thu Dec 16, 2021 9:16 pm If you don't want the answer, don't ask the question. I answered your question. I use FL to write and record indie rokk. Does that fall under "edm all day long without any taste, class, or history". Do tell Mr Oracle of generalisation.
