It was on sale for $45 during Black Friday.JUSTINO wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 6:34 pm guys -
can you tell me is this a good price for the softube model 72 ?
£67.00 so its half price on Plug in Boutique
Plugin Boutique is a little bit cheaper than the actual softube site - is this the best place to buy softube stuff from
I notice plugindiscounts no longer do softube stuff - they used to do good prices on softubes plugs.
The softube website says - the model 72 will be Unlocked between December 28th - 30th - but they dont give a price for it during this period.
So is 50% off on plugin boutique the best I will find ?
thanks guys

I forgot about the supersaw inside Braids. The funny thing about is, the supersaws are 100% mono and they sound good with no big phase cancellation. Perfect for bass drones.JUSTINO wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:19 pmI am changing my mind and buying the Braids one - I like the supersaw on it. I have made a track using the system 8 supersaw , and the one I made on the modular is much better - two supersaws ... what a big sound.

you on crackperpetual3 wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:37 pmModel 72 smokes legend in terms of pure sound. But legend is indeed more convenient and efficient for polyphonic applications. Building a polyphonic Moog in Modular likes the cpu attention for itself.

I like the Vermona Random Rhythm module
I got the idea from Thorsten (Tangerine Dream), he uses it as hardware in his Eurorack system.
The most important thing for me anyway is that Modular is more stable now. That was an absolute disaster (besides the not very good GUI) that some modules (like the Vermona) were quite buggy.
Voltage Modular as an example is really good with the GUI (at least I liked it a lot)... but Softube Modular sounds really good... you just can't have everything

On November 25th, I was able to buy it directly from Softube for USD $46.06 (after tax). So they do have better sales. But you may be waiting. Then is it worth it to save 20 euros if you end up waiting several months?JUSTINO wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 6:34 pm guys -

Made a few patches today, mostly with Model 72 modules. I have mixed feelings about this. The filter sounds great, but gets unfortunately Moog typically very thin with higher resonance values. The Model 72 oscillators are maybe a bit too phat for my taste. Creating a good sounding three oscillator patch is very challenging in my opinion.
Surprise of the day, the Braids module. This one sounds really nice...

One of my tricks is to mix in a bit of triangle wave past the filter for some low end beef at higher resonances.Rastkovic wrote: Sat Dec 18, 2021 3:45 am Made a few patches today, mostly with Model 72 modules. My initial results with trialing the Model 72 - not knocked out - sorry - bit flabby ! but I will give it more time - as I often change my mind and go its the best thing ever.
The waveforms on the doefler sound much better than the osc on the model 72 to me.
I notice the monoment bass is on sale at softube for a few days - i dont think i will even trial this one as it doesnt sound great ( unless i am totally wrong )
