Looking for Live Loop One-Shot/Sample Player Plug-in

Hey folks. In the past year I sold all of my guitar pedals in favor of a software-only setup (mainly using GigPerformer as a host). One of the pedal functions that I loved the most for playing live / improv was repeatedly recording a random snippet of my playing into a buffer then triggering it as a sample/one shot. The Line6 DL4 can do this with the Loop Sampler, and you can play your samples half/double speed, fwd and reverse. You can see Nick Reinhardt doing this often with the dl4 demoing his pedals here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ho665dOBQIE I also used the Korg AX1G multifx pedal to do something similar, and I am sure many other pedals can do the same.

However, I have been struggling to replicate this using VSTs.. Most live loopers are designed to cycle indefinitely rather than trigger just once, and most samplers are not designed to record, sample and manipulate incoming audio. Cockos’ loopsampler-m can mostly do it, but I can’t control the triggers by midi cc, and the sound quality isn’t great. The closest that I have come is through using the WusikREC plugin, which is able to trigger one-shots. The only issue with it is that it only plays the loop forward at normal speed, there’s no half/double or reverse options.

I am wondering if anyone out there knows of a plug-in that could be capable of what I’m looking for. If not, I think it is a good idea for a plug-in that I imagine could be relatively easily developed!

My hero!!!!! This does exactly what I am looking for. Thank you so much for linking me to it. You don't know how many hours I spent trying to figure this out.. I had tried ES' Augustus Loop plugin, and I believe I had heard about the ES loop synth but did not realize there was a FX version. Thank you so so much!

I had the same demand and got the sampler II module for Cherry’s Voltage Modular which just could do that…
