And this is how rumours are spread by total nitwits

Any idea when the leader of the plugin world ( N.I )
will make a proper UI for their vst's like Kontakt, that other plugins from even smaller companies that do support modern monitors. EG: My monitors are 4k , yet the images are still really hazy, which makes it hard to view plugins like Kontakt. That and you still can't make Kontakt large enough, like say Arturia,Spectrasonics, and UVI apps.
Be nice if NI would demonstrate their awesome developers skill set every now and again. thnx

I'd prefer they use those resources to make something that sounds amazing. If the GUIs are a problem for you, buy monitors that are more appropriate to your needs, don't expect everyone else to fix your problems for you.trusampler wrote: Mon Dec 20, 2021 12:45 am Any idea when the leader of the plugin world ( N.I )will make a proper UI for their vst's like Kontakt, that other plugins from even smaller companies that do support modern monitors.

^^ from the article... which is from january 2020 btw.In 2017, EMH Partners invested 50 million Euros in Native Instruments,
is this not a lot of money in the software world? i know they're a good sized company and hardware and software is expensive to develop it still seems like a lot of cash.
but what do i know... i'm just some doofus on the internet.

Kind of laugh a bit with the complaints about GUI sizing, at least on the Mac. Because the Mac has a wonderful zoom feature for the whole UI available to make it easy to see the small GUIs. I get it, put in support for modern monitors, no argument. But there is an easy way around it in the meantime.

In my case that's true I don't use Reaktor synths anymore, but I kept Reaktor+blocks installed, because I patched some stuff in it to output midi and control other synths. So I keep using reaktor as a modular sequencer, it does not output any sound, it just output midi. It can drive and modulate other plugins, today I played with imposcar2.an-electric-heart wrote: Sun Dec 19, 2021 10:15 pm You're probably right actually. I have Komplete, and have it all installed, but I guess Kontakt is the only thing I really use. When I need a synth, I never reach for an N.I synth anymore... You know what, because of this thread, I think I'll un-install them.

Come on! Even I understood it, as a non-native-speaker! And it is not, that the context wouldn‘t have underlined it. You really got him wrong. I remember when NI got that 50mil influx of cash and thinking: oh…maybe now we’ll see some progress with these guys… and all we got was a half assed release of Massive X? Can you imagine what would happen if a venture capitalist dumped 50mil on Urs Heckmann’s desk and said: “Go nuts, Urs”?dayjob wrote: Mon Dec 20, 2021 3:35 am^^ from the article... which is from january 2020 btw.In 2017, EMH Partners invested 50 million Euros in Native Instruments,

massive X does sound really amazing though imo. anyway.. i think hardware development is expensive.. marketing is also expensive. offices in several countries with big dev teams is expensive.Weasel-Boy wrote: Mon Dec 20, 2021 6:21 amI remember when NI got that 50mil influx of cash and thinking: oh…maybe now we’ll see some progress with these guys… and all we got was a half assed release of Massive X? i've no idea how companies spend their money but now and then like w/spotify we hear about about the $1.77 million per month rent on their Trade Center offices in NYC and i have to wonder if everyone burns through the capital like tech bros.
NI seems smarter than that and i hope whatever 'getting the house in order' stuff is happening that it comes together well.

I really really wish this is how it worked, but it works more like this:Weasel-Boy wrote: Mon Dec 20, 2021 6:21 amI remember when NI got that 50mil influx of cash and thinking: oh…maybe now we’ll see some progress with these guys… and all we got was a half assed release of Massive X? "Here Urs, this is enough money for you now to listen to us when we suggest that the industry standard is 70% of the original price for upgrades, we would also like to suggest monthly sound packs for your synths, new sales every other month, and a cut in your workforce. We figure we will break even on our investment if you do all these things, great for everyone right?"
So yeah apply that to NI's investment changes, and lo and behold... new rompler sound pack in the Play series, never ending sales, a cut in the workforce etc.
So yeah, Urs better never get bought out by a bigger company.

Battery 4 is over 8 years old, so for me as an outsider Battery 5 would be a better business choice than expansion number 50 something. But maybe it's easier to outsource expansions than key software development.
Battery 4 is still a nice software. I just don't use it because I have Live's drum rack and other stuff.

It's a good solution for drum machine type workflows in DAWs like DP, Reaper etc. with something like Beatstep Pro and the Launchpad MK3.Lazarus451 wrote: Mon Dec 20, 2021 7:07 am Battery 4 is still a nice software. I just don't use it because I have Live's drum rack and other stuff.

Funny to see people's interpretations of NI getting bought up in chunks and passed from fund to fund.
It's not 'yippppeeee, 50 million dollars to spend on making new synths and effects !!'
It's more like 'oh shit, they're gonna strip this carcas to the bone to get a return on their 50 mil'
If you're not already familiar with how these kind of 'investment funds' can work, you only need to look at how NI has performed since getting into bed with these funds to see what scenario we're in (clue: it's not the Yippppeeee scenario).
I posted the business wire article because it's the crux of everything discussed in this thread. It's not even the first time NI has found itself in investment fund hands, which is another major clue because 'benevolent' buy outs where the original IP goes on to be improved by the buyout rarely have a track record of being passed from fund to fund.
NI used to be a high fashion model, who spent her time strutting the cat walks during Paris fashion week. But after some financial struggles, she ended up being managed by Bishop Don Juan and now she's crawling the streets of down town Detroit from about 11pm until 6am, turning tricks for 50 bucks. Every night of the week. She's alive, she's making money ... but god damn, she ain't what she used to be. As if that wasn't bad enough, Bishop Don Juan just sold her to Iceberg Slim.
