Yeah, love that little beast! I’m thinking about replacing my Komplete Kontrol with a 61SL mk3. Native Instruments continues to ignore the KK’s potential for being a standalone hardware controller

Actually, scratch that. I had assumed that the mk3 had the same Fatar keybed as their predecessors, but it turns out that Novation cheaped out and put a shit keybed in a $700 controller.thecontrolcentre wrote: Mon Dec 20, 2021 3:45 am The SL Mk3 looks fantastic ... it's been on my rader for a while![]()

Another "deal killer" for me would be the idiotic placement of the displays below the knobs. I mean, seriously, come on. Who designed that? My underarms are not transparent.
It's as if they designed that top bar, and then forgot that they have to place the knobs somewhere as well.

Meh. Ive still got my ReMote 25 and 61. None of yer fancy modern 'SL' shite.
An idiot on Set Theory:

Are you guys using your ReMOTE for your DAW, or just as a dedicated hardware controller? Mine's dedicated to my h/w synths and not even hooked up via USB, except when I need to create or edit a template. I made custom templates for all of my h/w synths, with the parameters that are buried in each synth's menus mapped to the most accessible controls on the ReMOTE. It works out great because I have instant access to almost everything on my h/w synths either via their own front panel controls or the ReMOTE. Really works great for the Minitaur (which has no onboard screen to access hidden parameters) and Slim Phatty. The Slim Phatty is notorious for hanging notes, so having a dedicated button to kill all notes on my ReMOTE is the only keeping me from smashing it in the faceplate sometimes.

just for software really, i only use "hidden functions" on the minitaur for sound design, using the computer, performance controls it has what i need.
aside from that and my ms2k and a darkstar (oh and one channel on the 0coast now) non of my hardware is midi compatible. (well a few pedals too, but ive never used that...)

Really nice shots cryophonik. That looks like a great place to work. I love Focusrite ISA pres/channels. A vocalist and VO actor I work with has a pair of racked 110 channels and it's always a treat to use them.

Thanks Justin! Yeah, I love that ISA220. I wanted one for years, then this one appeared on the SF craigslist one day about 6 or 7 years ago at an absolutely ridiculous price. The seller bought it new to do a VO, used it once, boxed it up and left it in his closet for a few years, then decided it was time to sell it for dirt cheap just to get rid of it. I totally lucked out!justin3am wrote: Mon Dec 20, 2021 6:06 pm Really nice shots cryophonik. That looks like a great place to work. I love Focusrite ISA pres/channels.
