JUSTINO wrote: Sun Dec 19, 2021 7:39 pm quick note to anyone who has prob with the fans going on macbook pro with modular

i started using this - it turns off turbo boost and i have not heard the fans at all since using it - its free - http://tbswitcher.rugarciap.com/
Yeah, and then you’ll start losing performance.
Well, at some point you will reach the ceiling and then you can turn turbo boost back on and you will see that it does give a pretty good performance boost. I have the same computer and same TBswitcher program your using.

Just thought I would update my Model 72 status ( well you have too after knocking something ) -

Total change of mind here - thing is phenominal at doing distorted things - it was exactly what i was after for this ..

total change around - like what it does in modular - what a distorted sound it does - the other ones dont do distortion like this one

def buy - sale is on 28th i think for two days on softube site

Glad you changed you mind!

Wanted to do a small synth demo with some Model 72 modules and ended up with a new track. So, I can't/don't want to show it here. :)

But today I started another attempt, this time with someone else's melodies. ;)

Sounds good as expected, will upload it soon....

Sounds great - I like the whole thing - the 72 has power

do you recon the 72 sounds better coming through modular to just using it as the normal keyboard vst version ?

Yes, I prefer the modules. I think I have more control over the sound, over saturations and distortions. Love the clean tone. For the bass patch I used one VCA per VCO. 2xVCO->2xVCA->MIXER->VCF

The sound is very powerful. So much powerful, that sometimes you're forced to use a lowcut filter, or to switch to a different key. ;)

The modules of the Model 84 for example, are much easier to mix. They sound also very nice, different from the Model 72, but still very nice.

If I started with Softube Modular again, I would buy all Doepfer modules, Model 72 and Model 84. That's all. I think the big strength of Softube Modular is analog emulation. For more experimental stuff, I prefer VCV Rack. The availability of additional modules is simply larger here. Just my personal opinion.

I would definitely like an Oberheim TVP with modules. I would also love more eurorack modules for ambient, like magneto, morphagene, instruo stuff and more mutable stuff. Maybe a partnership with guys like R beny, State Azure or Omri Cohen to show the potential of softube modular in this type of music... I bet it would attract a lot of people who end up choosing VCV, which is amazing precisely because of these possibilities.

has anyone here compared the real hardware doefler system to the softube virtual versions ?
I would like to know if they sound even better ?
I have not heard a real doefler except on some youtube videos.
