Q: What [computer/mobo/tablet] do I need?
A: I find that whichever one I have handy works fine. Anything made in the last 10 years is peachy. Now go make some music!
Longer answer: It's been a loooong-ass time -- longer than many of you have been alive! -- since minimum hardware specs have been relevant for anything but gaming. My wife's first-gen i3 can run (the demo of) Diva. Now shut the fsck up and make some music!

I used to make music on a 2012 MBP, I had very little trouble with that and I still use it when I'm not at home.
Have to say that more power doesn't hurt. Before I got the M1 and I had to freeze my tracks quite often, now I don't have to care at all.
