HoRNet Valvola

free vacuum tube amplifier emulation

HoRNet Valvola (the Italian word for vacuum tube) it’s an emulation of the electric behavior of a vacuum tube and its surrounding circuit.
The sound of the plugin is as close as you can get to the real tube behavior since the code it’s the direct modeling of the circuit characteristics obtained directly simulating the tube and the biasing circuit around it. The same technology is found inside our Guitar Kit plugin and Analog Stage plugin and we decided to give it away for free because we are proud of it.

Valvola is our Christmas gift for this 2021 and we hope it’ll make this year a little better for everyone.

You can download it simply sharing its page on Facebook or Twitter using the buttons you find in the page.

At first, I was like “share on twitter…”, thanks, but no thanks, but then I just clicked on the twitter link, immediately closed the popup window again and was able to add Vulva, eh Valvola to my account :)
So also possible for non-social media users. Will try next week. thanks Hornet for the freebie!

Volume goes down when inserting that plug (okay), but there is no make-up gain. That would be great. Also a button that allows to switch between tube types, instead of clicking on the list and selecting.
Sounds great though!

Same situation here with MacBook Pro, Intel...

Input and output controls would be really nice as it comes to life the more you drive it, but then you want to bring the gain up too. Nothing that can't be done with a gain plugin before it, and it sounds really nice. Very nice little freebie for sure.
A bit fried in the higher freqs

I would remove the requirement of posting on one's social media before downloading and make it more clearly optional. Someone posted a work around above (close window before posting). I don't want to "spam" my social media feed. For example, you could write, "If you like the plugin, please consider posting a link on Twitter/Facebook" and then provide a link that one can click on, while keeping the download process seperate. Thanks.

Saverios GUI design is really bad. Sorry to start with a complaint, especially when it's about a good sounding free plugin but
GUI's are really not his talent. All this wasted space instead of good functionality. Many of his plugins look like 90's corell draw.

No input and output is just strange.

Anyway....that's how he is (as long as "Made in Italy" is on top of the GUI - People have different priorities, I guess).

The algos sound very nice and I adding trim plugins before/after will not stop me from using it in the long run.

Thanks for the freebie, Saverio.

I don't have a Twatter or Facefuck account and all i did was click on the link, which briefly took me to the Twatter page, but then redirected back to the HorNet site which allowed me to put it in the basket and checkout with my account

I disagree. At least as far as this plugin goes. Its extremely simple, and the GUI reflects that. You can immediately tell whats interactive, what its doing, how much of it you are adding, etc. Color contrast is fine too. Not sure what you expect.

I agree, for a one knob plugin this is really rather elegant, nicely proportioned etc.

Sounds good too, thanks Saverio.

sounds great but the VST3 version looks strange (VST and AU are fine)
