Yes - that's it - you refreshed my memory. Downloading from Resources cleared it up.

This was the first time I got a bit confused with getting an Arturia download sorted.
Couldn't remember the steps I took, and was about to give up on it.

Oh, this is really cool. Thanks for notifying me.

P.S. - Why are vintage/tape "character" plugins so popular the last few years? Not complaining, but it's an interesting trend...

It's for horror films ...

Sinister...a very scary film.

It’s very popular in rap/hiphop/trap production right now theres even a lofi sub genre. In the 90’s everyone sampled their sounds so they already had that character but now everyone wants to compose their own stuff so these effects can give that vintage vibe.

Then there’s also the synthwave genre. Basically retro/vintage is in right now..

Kids these days with their 'synthpop' and 'hiphop' and 'retro.'

In my days we had dubstep and post-industrial IDM and that's all we needed!

Post

Don't forget the whole 'hauntology' thing, dark murky synths and samples suggesting cold war number stations, primitive radiophonics and 70s public information films.

Same here ... nothing in the software centre after hours of waiting.
The same here! I thought I should install it, so I did but it stayed in demo mode with "buy" button that leads to nowhere when clicked!

I guess, I will uninstall it and wait till tomorrow and see :)
Yep. Came to same conclusion. No rush :)
Just checked it now before turning off my PC, and it is there in my products tab. Activated and installed, so you might find it also there now ;)
Oh! And thank you Arturia :)
I received an email with an activation code and serial number this morning. I installed from the Arturia Software Center and it's up and running (without entering any codes or serials) ... thanks Arturia.

installation wouldn't let me put the thing where I wanted - I'm not letting it create an Arturia directory under Library, that's plain wrong - with the explanation this would break the thing for other users. I don't have other users here. Yeah, no.

In the Software Centre you can specify where you want the plugins to install ... same with downloads. In the menu under your user name go to preferences/folders

I left it at default and didn't think of it, but you're right, that's bullshit. Just do default Application support like a normal person arturia, going to root library is weird af.

Here's how I am using it - this is actually only a 100% wet demo, because I wanted to show using it for its lo-fi character and saturation behavior as well as the stop effect. There's a world of sounds in the wet/dry blend range that are interesting to work with also and I may make another video showing that later. Definitely going to use it like that in this track, on some guitar parts :)

I mean surely everyone is getting it, free is one heck of a price, but if anyone is for some reason waiting on someone to say it, don't miss this one!

Nice! /\

Finally had a chance to try it. I think it's very useful. I am always looking for ways of grunging up sounds.

One minor issue is that it always makes noise whether there are sounds going through it or not. This is easily solved by putting a noise gate after it.
