Reason 12.2.4 Release Notes

• Fixed a bug where the browser didn't refresh with updated content, e.g. an exported song and saved patch

• Slight improvements to display performance in Rack Extensions

• Minor improvements to ReFill handling

• Reason no longer rescans already scanned Rack Extensions at startup

• Minor improvements to processor thread handling

Windows specific fixes:

• Auto-scale implementation for VSTs in Reason standalone

• Improved scrolling in the Rack

• Fixed an issue when starting Reason on early versions of Windows 10

Great, just when I've installed R+ few hours earlier...

The stable release channel of 12.2.3 is unusable for me. Locks my SSD into a never-ending indexing loop, utilizing 100% disk usage. Let it run for over an hour and it was still at 100% disk use. Also, fast search stopped working in my user location folders. Glad I picked up Ableton Live 11 Suite over Black Friday!

I'm kinda glad I didn't sell Reason. I really, REALLY wanted to, but for some reason kept it anyway...
Having a lot of fun with it lately and as simple as the sequencer might be, it is kinda nice and straightforward to play with. 8/10 would buy again

PS: all one needs is some discipline to put the FX into the Insert FX place in the Mix Channel instead of just dropping it underneath the Instrument... that way you can keep things relatively tidy.

Yeah, that's a good tip just pay attention that now Insert FX are - by default - processed after Mixer's dynamics and EQ sections (that can be changed, of course):

If you are trying to get the bass instrument to be played by bassline generator and then through scales and Chords insert the instrument into the rack first, then bassline generator above the instrument and then scales and Chords in between the instrument and bassline generator. You should not have to do any cabling.

This guy here places notes in the midi editor to make the Reason Bass Generator change to those notes but when I do this,the midi notes play as well as the Bass Generator notes.
In his example,the midi notes are silent but the Bass generator is changing notes following the midi notes.

How do you do this?,Watch the video if you don't get what I am saying.

Daws are just too unintuitive for me,I have NFI lol.

Back to practising on the piano.

You need to be in SEQ+KEY (or KEY) mode in Bassline Generator and then a long note - the length of the sequence - will dictate the root note of the sequence. In 1st mode the sequence is synced with transport, in 2nd with MIDI note.

I have it as well. A kind soul gifted it to me here in the Sell & Buy forum.

And I'm happy once again to still be on a (reasonably big) full HD display.

I would gladly pay $30/$40 for a HD upgrade to Reason Intro 11 but obviously they just want everyone to jump on the Reason+ bandwagon. I tried it and don't need half of the stuff in there.
The selection of devices included in Intro are good enough to have in the toolbox and I'd be happy to keep them but the tiny GUI puts me off.
We'll see how long it takes for me to delete Intro as I have been phasing out any plugins that don't have modern resizable GUIs especially since I recently upgraded to a 2560x1440 monitor after years of being stuck on 1920x1080.
