Hi,

In RapidComposer v4.4b1 Standalone (Windows 10) -

Recognition of chords from Scaler is tremendously improved. Excellent!

However, I'm observing that while the first drag-in of a MIDI file seems to go fine, another drag-in induces a hang state (spinning donut).

Post

manual rhythm editing still broke..

Post

I checked this a few days ago, and it worked well.
How can I reproduce this bug?

You frightened me... There was no hanging, just the mouse pointer was not restored to an arrow sometimes. I fixed that now. Thanks for the bug report!

clear the rhythm and then try to set new notes.. once you clear, nothing will set for me.. my apologies, I should have been more clear in my first post about this..

This is set to quarter note and it's not..

ok, I can maybe laugh at my self.. I had the phrase set to 32 bars and that what was loading in the editor.. I think it is all good.

but I did find a problem with it.. rhythm processing sometimes does not get the changes.. (right click first square and choose a set remainder note length)

Hi,

When I drag in the attached MIDI file (directly to track) and then attempt to convert it to Master Track chords, nothing happens. Am I doing something incorrectly?

Also, as can be seen, the file above imports with 4-chords-per-bar. When I try to drag the phrase (from the right) to the right in order to expand it to one-chord-per-bar, The dragging is takes place practically microscopically. Expanding the phrase from 8 bars to 32 bars (which would accomplish the goal) takes a double digit number of attempts at dragging as each one only moves the phrase a small increment before the mouse leaves the screen.

Is this fixable?

Is there another, better, quick and accurate way to get from 4-chords-per-bar to one-chord-per-bar?

maybe.. compare images, your is before relative convert, mine is after. Also notice, your phrase is not selected.

Thanks for your experiment and comments BlueGenes!

What I'm observing today, very repeatably, is that immediately after starting RC I can drag in the file and do the relative conversion and get Master Track chords.

However, if I then discard the existing composition in favor of a New Composition (without restarting the program), attempting the very same thing will not work. I drag the file in, attempt the conversion, and nothing happens, no Master Track chords are created, no matter how many times I try it.

Post

That can happen, but, all you need to do is re-select the phrase and the process should work..

Post

Unf, deselect and reselect any number of times has no enabling effect here (from the state described above).

However, if I double-click on the Phrase to go into the Phrase Editor, and then Apply and return to the composition, I can do one conversion to MT chords. If I then Ctrl-Z to undo it, I cannot successfully convert again.

If I then double-click on the Phrase to go into the Phrase Editor, and then Apply and return to the composition again, I cannot do a conversion to MT chords.

If I then again double-click on the Phrase to go into the Phrase Editor, and then again Apply and return to the composition, I can do one conversion to MT chords.

Etc. ad-infinitum. IOW, every other trip into and out of the Editor (with Apply) puts me in a state from which I can do a conversion.

It seems to me that some aspect of state is not being properly kept track of across all relevant operations. We should always be able to do something, then Ctrl-Z to undo it, then immediately do that thing again successfully I think.

And an operation that works correctly when the program is first started should ideally always work correctly after invoking New Composition. It's havoc to workflow if not!
