The post says the NEW version will have the Korg drums etc ... not sure how I misread that, I quoted it just to keep it in context. If I am wrong, sorry for that.

But @Yadrichik_Chaya ackonowledged, that his first track was against the rules, so he withdrew, with the plan to redo it without restrictions, outside OSC. And in the very next post he submitted a new track, following the rules of OSC.
Although, I admit @Yadrichik_Chaya's wording leaves some room for misunderstanding...

So is it, like Yadrichik_Chaya wrote, that Impulse Responses are against OSC rules? I found nothing in the rules about IRs, is it because they are samples? Anyway, in my submission I replaced the Ableton Hybrid Reverb (which uses IRs) with Tal Reverb 2.

My interpretation is, it depends on the use case. A little bit like distortion.
Using it lightly as reverb impulse should be fine, like subtle saturation for 'analog warmth'.
Using it to completely alter the sound, to achieve something, you wouldn't get out of the synth (like using sonic characteristics of a string instrument) would be, like going full 11 with a wave shaper, a no go.
Edit: typo

Yeah, I agree with SeBaer: I think you're perfectly safe with IRs as long as you use them as a reverb within the "don't-go-full-11" practice.Darksynth FX wrote: Sun Dec 26, 2021 6:26 am So is it, like Yadrichik_Chaya wrote, that Impulse Responses are against OSC rules? I just skimmed through the discussion earlier, but as I understood it, Yadrichik used them to alter the original sound pretty significantly to create an instrument one otherwise probably wouldn't be able to replicate with Triple Cheese alone.
(practically a duplicate of your post, SeBaer, sorry – but I had already written it, so I might as well post it to back up your interpretation!

@doctorbob @SeBaer @Darksynth FX @schiing
@FrogsInPants & @z.prime clearified the usage of IRs earlier in the thread:

I think all is clear now regarding everything thanks to @SeBaer & @schiing.
The new version of the previous entry will have things outside of OSC rules, the new entry which is following the rules 100% was made in the same project as the previous one. I see now why things got a little confusing.
Frustrated with not getting ”that” violin sound I lowered the tempo with 20 BPM in the cubase project and just made something else instead.
Merry christmas and happy new year everybody!
And thanks for all the really great entries: beautiful baroque music, classy jazz-fusion, drum n bass dances, modular madness(!), trippy house, all in cheese ethnic fusion etc. - like christmas gifts for the ears!
See/hear you guys next (y)ear!

I enjoyed this piece, and thought the sounds were good, but I do question the use of those IRs.Yadrichik_Chaya wrote: Mon Dec 06, 2021 2:52 pm I managed to create some cool percussion things like tambourines & shakers etc. The snare I made fits the song but it is really the solo violin that I love the most! I'm pretty sure you guys can create much better sounding violins than I ever can. I used Ignite NadIR and these free Violin Impulse Responses:

Glad everything is sorted now! Have a Happy New Year celebration, and then down to the business of voting! How many tracks will drop in until then, notwithstanding the hangovers?
Cheers everyone. Looking forward to the listening and voting. Always a pleasure.

Merry Xmas all!
Can't wait for the kids to go back to nursery / school again so I can get back to making music
The kids got new keyboards plus covid for Xmas so yeah it's been extra tough on the ears and the head...
We've got a one (any) synth type challenge going on in the discord chat with a deadline of 14th January. No prizes as such just a chance for you to make a track with your favourite chosen synth hardware or software. Use any effects you want just keep it sensible and within the synth as much as possible. Initially we suggested it be the last synth you bought but really the emphasis is on something you've not learnt or used much yet but always wanted to learn.

Hm, the sync of the LFO in Triple Cheese within Renoise does not really seem to work. More exactly, while the speed is synced, the start point seems to be pretty random... What for then is LFO sync good for? What did I miss here?
EDIT: Ah, now I remember, wasn't this one of the never-fixed-uhe-renoise-combination-problems? I wrote a bunch of times about these with Taktik and he thinks that you, u-He, should fix those problems. It was a) lfo restart/sync, only works with double clicking stop in Renoise all the time on each start and b) your select boxes not working if the exclusive plugin mode is checked in Renoise. Quite a lot people would be happy, if this was fixed by U-He then... At least I had supporters each time I wrote about that into the forum.

yes, here using Renoise and the same problem, sometimes the lfo starts out of sync but if you stop the pattern and press play again normally gets the correct syncronizationHanz Meyzer wrote: Mon Dec 27, 2021 10:23 am Hm, the sync of the LFO in Triple Cheese within Renoise does not really seem to work. Hello friends,
I hope you are all well and have survived the holidays unscathed
Here is my submission for this month!
It's gotten a bit cheesy
and the chord progression is also kind of familiar
(anyone who knows in which song it's in?), but it was still fun to play.
https://soundcloud.com/rockingricky/roc ... new-cheese
23 instances of Triple Cheese in Cubase Elements
DAW FX:
Roomworks (reverb)
PingPongDelay
StereoEnhancer
third party FX:
MSpectralPan
TAL Reverb 3
Lagrange
Limiter No.6
Also used some internal effects of TC ...
Now I'm going to listen to what you have delivered
Good luck to all

I find that most annoying, hard to setup the sync right then, in context.davi-dj wrote: Mon Dec 27, 2021 12:17 pm yes, here using Renoise and the same problem, sometimes the lfo starts out of sync but if you stop the pattern and press play again normally gets the correct syncronization.
